General: Stewards inquired into an alleged incident between licensees Ms. H. Wooler and Ms. G. Thomson. After hearing initial evidence from both parties, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to be resumed Tuesday 19^th September at the Townsville Greyhound Racing Club.

Race 1 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICE MAIDEN 380m

4 Showgirl Kara – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn, losing considerable ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside triceps, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

Race 2 - HUNNY POT NQ NOVICE (1) 380m

Race 3 - CLEVELAND BAY SEAFOOD NOVICE (2) 380m

Race 4 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS 0-3 WINS 498m

2 Aloe’s Reward – (Beaten favourite) Tightened for racing room and was checked rounding the first turn. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

7 Rose Target – Tightened for racing room and was severely checked rounding the first turn, losing considerable ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside shoulder, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

Race 6 - #JCOOL AIR CONDITIONING MIXED 4/5 498m

8 Ferocious June – (Beaten favourite) Marginally slow to begin. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Checked by another runner rounding the first turn.

Race 7 - PETER JEPSON MEDIA SERVICES 3/4 GRADE HEAT 1 MIXED 3/4 380m

1 Lush Ice – Late scratching at 9:59am pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have bruising during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

3 Malligan Bale – Checked off the heels of another runner and fell rounding the first turn, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

8 Free At Night – Checked by the fallen runner, losing considerable ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 8 - SKY RACING 3/4 GRADE HEAT 2 MIXED 3/4 380m

4 King Amar – Bumped with another runner and made contact with the running rail rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the to the nearside hind foot, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 3 days.

Race 9 - ALL RIG LIFTING & ENGINEERING 3/4 GRADE HEAT 3 MIXED 3/4 380m

No matters of concern to Stewards.

Race 10 - MAGIC CARPET CLEANING GRADE 5 (1) 380m

4 Impress Rolls – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 11 - HICKORY INDUSTRIES GRADE 5 (2) 380m

1 All Up – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

7 Warbel Tony – Checked off the heels of another runner and dragged down by another runner rounding the first turn, losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 12 - TAB GRADE 5 (3) 380m

4 Formula Ebby – Severely checked by another runner rounding the first turn and fell, failing to complete the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside foreleg, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.

5 Red Ricciardo – Tightened between runners rounding the first turn and was severely checked, losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

7 Ocean – Severely checked by another runner rounding the first turn, losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
