A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Brad Belford regarding the greyhound’s seemingly disappointing performance. Mr Belford stated that Federal Remark is still a young dog and was slow to begin in tonight’s race opposed to his first race start where he jumped straight to the front. Shortly after the start Mr Belford and Stewards agreed the greyhound was checked as well as being dragged down around the first turn.
