Race 1 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

 

5 Lyn’s Watching – Late scratching at 6:30am pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have a nearside hindleg injury during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

 

 

Race 2 - HEATH ARDLE MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 3 - SHELLY DENNIS MAIDEN HEAT 3 MAIDEN 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 4 - COREY HEATH MAIDEN HEAT 4 MAIDEN 380m

 

5 In A Minute – Stewards inquired into the greyhounds’ action at box rise. Taking into account it is In A Minute’s first race start and the lure being positioned to the inside, Stewards were in agreeance with trainer Mr. J. Reid that the greyhound was pursuing the lure with commitment and declined to take any further action.

 

6 Fussy One – Checked off the heels of another runner entering the home straight and became extremely unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 5 - PUG WASH PAINTING NOVICE 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 6 - PREH WE WIN RACING NOV/M 498m

 

2 Four Rangers – Raced in restricted room through the first turn and was checked. Shortened stride thereafter and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

 

9 Devil’s Waltz (3) – Checked by another runner exiting the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hip, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days.

 

 

Race 7 - V & M DRILLING MIXED 4/5 498m

 

1 Hidden Fury – (Beaten favourite) Raced in restricted room rounding the first turn. Beaten 1 ¼ lengths.

 

 

Race 8 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS GRADE 4 380m

 

1 Where’s The Ship – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

5 Hello Ernie – Raced in restricted room approaching the first turn. Checked rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hip injury, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

 

 

Race 9 - JEFF LYNCH BEST 8 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 10 - WOOLER RACING GRADE 5 380m

 

3 Bar One Smokers – Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Bobbie-Jean Chaffey regarding the improved performance of greyhound. Ms Chaffey stated that despite being unable to get a run with Bar One Smokers, she has made no change in the training and preparation of the greyhound and was not expecting the greyhound to perform strongly today. Ms Chaffey advised that she did not support the greyhound in wagering. Stewards noted the explanation.

 

7 Winston The Wolf – Bumped with another runner and shortened stride exiting the first turn and lost considerable ground. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hindleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.

 

 

Race 11 – TAB MIXED 4/5 380m

 

3 Downpipe – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

 

 

Race 12 - KB SEAFOOD COMPANY MA5 380m

 

1 Saruman – Shortened stride after passing the finishing line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hindleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.
