General: Stewards inspected the track after the running of Race 4 due to a bolt and washer coming off the tractor grader. Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the track was clear of any foreign matter and deemed the racing surface safe to continue to race. |

2 Don’t Matter Me – (Beaten favourite) Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. |

2 All Up – Checked off heels approaching the first turn and lost ground. Took evasive action to avoid the fallen runners losing considerable ground from the field.
5 Frank The Tank – Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event.
8 Caviar – Checked off the heels of another runner approaching the first turn and fell, failing to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near foreleg injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel. |

2 Stormy Rose – (Beaten favourite) Slow to begin. Checked off heels rounding the first turn.
6 Willies Fury – Proved difficult to box at the start of the race. Stewards requested that trainer Mr Graham Thomson boxes the dog for future race starts until his boxing manners improve. |

1 Currie Young Boy – A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the near-hind leg and under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.
3 Scale Up Time – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near hind toe and under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. |

4 Nobu Lad – Turned its head inwards towards a runner soon after entering the home straight. Visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the direction of another runner to its outside in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside shoulder and under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Christopher Scifleet regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. After reviewing the video footage, hearing submissions from Mr Scifleet along with the veterinary findings, Stewards invoked GAR124(1) Failing To Pursue and Nobu Lad was stood down from racing at Townsville for 28 days plus the completion of a satisfactory trial. |
