Race 1 - TAB MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m |

6 Ambrosia – Fell in the catching pen after the event had concluded. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
7 Shelby’s Boy – Bumped with another runner several times rounding the home turn, turning its head outwards towards that runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hamstring, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. M. Partland regarding the racing manners of Shelby’s Boy rounding the home turn and in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 10 day stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

3 Underbelly Miss – Dragged down rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

4 Gas It Up – Checked rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
7 Fable Bale – Checked rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hamstring, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

7 Awesome Cleo – Commenced to lose ground shortly after the start. Failed to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. H. Wooler regarding Awesome Cleo’s racing performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

4 Federal Remark – (Beaten favourite) Clipped on the heels by another runner exiting the first turn. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. B. Belford regarding the greyhound’s performance. Mr. Belford stated that after being checked Federal Remark lost some of his forward momentum and lost the lead, which is where the greyhound races best. Stewards noted the explanation.

1 Can’t Catch Her – Dragged down by another runner entering the first turn and fell. Took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
2 Hooded Robin – Improved onto the heels of another runner entering the first turn and was severely checked and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
