Race 2 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MAIDEN (2) 380m |
|
8 Judy Ann – Eased when rounding the home turn and directed its attention to another runner towards the outside, turning its head and shifting ground towards that runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside triceps, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. H. Wooler regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 10 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

9 Blue Eleanor (5) – Late scratching on 30/05 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to injury the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

1 Canya Slider – (Beaten favourite) Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn and in the home straight. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. J. Schafer regarding the greyhound’s performance. Mr. Schafer stated that greyhound is young and inexperienced although did believe the greyhound would perform better today, further stating that he believes the greyhound will benefit from today’s run. Stewards noted the explanation.

5 Lyn’s Watching – Dragged down exiting the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
