1 Yellow Car – Checked off heels approaching the first turn and lost considerable ground. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. |

6 Gene’s Boy – Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Rhonda Essery regarding Gene’s Boy’s seemingly improved performance. Ms Essery stated that she has been doing a lot of fitness work at her kennels with her greyhounds including using the straight track multiple times a week to improve the greyhound’s fitness between race starts. Ms R Essery further stated that she expected a forward showing tonight despite the greyhounds starting price. Stewards noted the explanation. |

8 Etta – Faltered in its action shortly after entering the back straight taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside hock and under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel. |
