General: The track was harrowed to a depth of 40mm yesterday. As a result, race times today may be slower than normal.

 

 

Race 1 – TAB MAIDEN (1) 380m

 

6 Ginger Jess – Contacted by another runner in the catching pen after the race had concluded. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a near foreleg injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down from racing for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. This matter will be referred to the Greyhound Injury Review Panel.

 

Race 2 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS MAIDEN (2) 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 3 - CAIRNS GREYHOUND OWNERS & TRAINERS MAIDEN (3) 380m

 

1 Pink Car – Checked off heels and fell rounding the first turn failing to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 4 - LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOOD NOVICE (1) 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 5 - B & M DRILLING NOVICE (2) 380m

 

3 War Admiral – Checked off heels approaching the first turn and lost ground. Checked off heels approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 6 – TGBOATA NPW 380m

 

1 – Awesome Benny – Checked off heels and fell rounding the first turn failing to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

4 Panadom – Inconvenienced by the fallen runner rounding the first turn losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 7 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 0-3 WINS 498m

 

1 Angelic Zaphera – Began to weaken and bumped heavily with another runner in the home straight to finish the race at the tail of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 8 - LOUISE PARTLAND PHOTOGRAPHY VERSATILITY FINAL GRADE 5 498m

 

1 Home Game – Checked off heels rounding the first turn and lost ground sharply, failing to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the nearside hip support and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days

 

Race 9 - ETHAN MALONEY PATHWAYS HEAT 1 5PW 380m

9 Sandy’s Heart – Faltered in its action in the back straight losing considerable ground taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near-hindleg and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.
