General: The track was harrowed to a depth of 50mm. As a result, race times today may be slower than normal.

 

 

Race 1 - PREH WE WIN KENNELS MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 2 - LOUISE PARTLAND PHOTOGRAPHY MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

 

1 Good Odds Jojo – Severely checked rounding the first turn losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

Race 3 - TGBOTA NOVICE (1) 380m

 

1 Reuben Cotter – Checked off heels approaching the first turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the offside front toe and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

 

8 Awesome Benny – Checked rounding the first turn. Visibly eased and pulled up approaching the home turn failing to complete the course. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Rhonda Essery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After reviewing the video footage and hearing Ms Essery’s submissions, Stewards invoked GAR124(1) Failing to Pursue and stood down Awesome Benny from racing for 28 days at Townsville and the completion of a satisfactory trial. Trainer Ms Rhonda Essery advised Stewards that Awesome Benny will be retired after today’s race.

 

Race 4 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS NOVICE (2) 380m

 

3 Boom Baby Boom – (Beaten favourite) Checked off heels and forced to race wide rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hind toe. No stand down time was given by the on-course veterinarian.

 

Race 5 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 6 - B & M DRILLING 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

 

7 Showtime Thor – Severely checked rounding the first turn losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

 

8 Migraine – Checked off heels rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hind foot. No stand down time was given by the on-course veterinarian.

 

Race 7 - INGHAM ROAD SEAFOODS 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

Race 8 - LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOOD PATHWAYS FINAL 5PW 380m

 

6 Miss Dutton – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed an injury to the nearside shoulder and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.

 

Race 9 - INGHAM ROAD SEAFOODS 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 380m
