1 Shimmer Red – checked and lost considerable ground when approaching the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer J. Newnham regarding the racing manners of Shimmer Red when approaching the turn out of the back straight. After considering all available evidence Stewards formed the view that Shimmer Red had checked and lost ground after sustaining interference from Blazing Infrared, which shifted inwards abruptly from the outside when approaching the turn out of the back straight.
7 Showtime Sarah – faltered and lost ground in the back straight and tailed the field for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hip support. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. |
