Race 1 - CAIRNS GREYHOUND OWNERS & TRAINERS MAIDEN (1) 380m  

 

6 Ricolina Jam – eased when rounding the turn into the home straight and then halfway through the home straight Ricolina Jam ceased chasing the lure and failed to finish the course. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Glen Olsen regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards suspended Ricolina Jam pursuant to GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence). Ricolina Jam was stood down from racing at Townsville for 28 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing again.

 

8 Super Pickle – underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have an injury to the left hind hip support. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

 

Race 2 - B & M DRILLING MAIDEN (2) 380m  

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 3 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES MDNPW 380m  

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 4 - SIMLEC ELECTRICAL NOVICE (1) 380m

 

3 Imprisonment – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

5 Amazing Stellar – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

6 Herbie Jenkins – galloped on when rounding the turn out of the back straight and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 5 – TGBOTA NOVICE (2) 380m

 

4 Major Bloom – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

5 Showtime Else - severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

Race 6 - LOUISE PARTLAND PHOTOGRAPHY NOVICE (3) 380m

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 7 - INGHAM ROAD SEAFOODS 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 380m  

 

1 Tank Engine – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

3 Federal Gold – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

 

5 She’s Winning - severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did reveal a spike wound to the left front foot. No stand down period was imposed.

 

Race 8 -TAB 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 9 - GREYHOUNDS MAKE GREAT PETS 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 380m  

 

2 Mini Coin Babe – Late scratching on 12/09/24 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to an injury to the right hind toe. The greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards have received a veterinary certificate.

 

4 Poppy Ed - Late scratching on 12/09/24 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to an injury to the left fore pad. The greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards have received a veterinary certificate.

 

Race 10 - LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOOD 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 380m  

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 11 - WEE WIN KENNELS 5TH GRADE HEAT 5 GRADE 5 380m

 

No reportable incidents.

 

Race 12 - ALL RUMOUR KENNELS MA5 380m

 

5 Senor Brumby – checked and lost ground from approaching the turn into the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hip support. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

 

6 Winlock Punky – severely checked and fell when rounding the turn out of the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
