1 Canya Dominate – (Beaten favourite) A pre-race sample was obtained. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and became momentarily unbalanced.

This event finished as a follow on lure due to a runner turning around in the back straight and returning towards the catching pen.

6 Lektra Bolt – Checked off another runner shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. Failed to complete the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hind leg, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

3 Jimmy Roo – (Beaten favourite) Bumped in the back straight. Checked entering the first turn. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
7 Salah’s Goal – Checked off another runner rounding the first turn and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left stopper bone, under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.

4 Golden Snitch – When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer Mr. Gary Farrell stated that he was at a loss to explain the greyhounds winning performance tonight and that he did not prepare the greyhound any different to usual. Mr Farrell further stated that although he had not been disappointed with the previous runs he did not expect the greyhound to win in a 4th grade event tonight, adding that being able to lead suits the greyhound. Mr Farrell stated he did not support Golden Snitch in wagering. Stewards noted the explanation. |
