6 Federal Mickey – Made contact with the rail rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left triceps, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.
8 Southpaw Mcgraw – (Beaten favourite) Clipped on the heels by another runner rounding the first turn. Improved onto the heels of another runner entering the home straight and was checked.

6 Butter My Toast – Eased and lost considerable ground when racing through the catching pen. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left shoulder, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. S. Atkinson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 5 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
