Race 1 - IN MEMORY OF PETER GROVES MDNPW 380m |

2 Electra Shadow – Severely checked and fell rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
3 Quiet But Quick – Checked entering the first turn. Turned its head outwards towards another runner and eased rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left triceps, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. H. Wooler regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to pursue by reason of injury – 7 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.
6 Brugal House – Severely checked and fell rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
8 Fernando Tobias – Checked entering the first turn. Turned its head outwards towards another runner and eased rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. B. Chaffey regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to pursue (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

3 Goofy’s Brother – Made contact with the running rail rounding the first turn and commenced to lose ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

8 Instinctively – (Beaten favourite) Dragged down by another runner exiting the first turn. Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the home turn.
