Race 1 - GARBUTT SELF SERVICE STORE GRADE 4 (1) 380m

 

2. Luxy Nova – Checked off another runner and collided with running rail entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 2 - DON HOBSON PLUMBING MIXED 3/4 380m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 3 - LOUND SEAFOOD MIXED 4/5 380m

 

4.Big Brain – Checked off  the heels, propped and gave ground on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings,

 

5. Timma Turtle Two – In the front straight deviated attention away from the lure towards a runner on the outside and shifted wider but did not make muzzle contact. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Greta Thomsen regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR 125 Fail to purse by reason of injury a day stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

Race 4 - CHRISTOPHER SCIFLEET GRADE 5 (1) 498m

 

2. Mischievous Mini - Late scratching pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to seasonal, the greyhound has been stood down for 28 days.

 

3. Underbelly Miss – Checked and disadvantaged soon after the start.

 

Race 5 - JASON BOLWELL GREYHOUNDS GRADE 5 (2) 498m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 6 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES-RACE 6 MIXED 4/5 498m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 7 - SIC AIR CONDITIONING BEST 8 380m

 

6. Good Odds Viking – Took an awkward stride and gave ground in the front straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

Race 8 - COUNTRY CUP FINAL OPEN 498m

 

1. King Amar – Checked on the first turn. Checked entering the second turn and collided with running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed nearside stopper pad abrasion and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 3 days.

 

3. Bar One Smokers - Late scratching at pursuant to GAR 92(2) when the greyhound was found to have a nearside hematoma during kennelling, the greyhound has been stood down for 7 days.

 

Race 9 - ALUMINIUM INDUSTRIES AUSTRALIA GRADE 4 (2) 380m

 

6.Golden Snitch – Faulted in its actions soon after the start and gave ground entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed nearside back muscle injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 5 days.

 

Race 10 - AUSSIE PET & ANIMAL TRAVEL GRADE 5 (1) 380m

 

·       No matters of concern to stewards.

 

Race 11 – ALAN OLSEN GRADE 5 (2) 380m

 

8. Federal Mickey – Slipped and lost footing immediately after the jump. Checked off hind quarters entering the first turn.

 

Race 12 - SUNNY HUSSEY SMITH GRADE 5 (3) 380m

 

4.Jed The Turtle – Checked soon after the start. Checked and dragged down entering the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an offside hind metatarsal injury and under the provisions of GAR 41(1) the greyhound has been stood down for 60 days and will need to perform a veterinary clearance trial prior to racing next.
