General: Due to club staffing complications, prior to the commencement of racing all races were pushed back one time slot with race 12 to start at 4:00pm.

 

Stewards inquired into an incident which took place on the track after race 12. After taking evidence, Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed.

 

Licensees Mr. D. Wolfinden, Mr. V. Wolfinden and Mr. D. Wooler were reminded of their obligations in regards to the Racing Queensland Dress Code.

Race 6 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

Race 7 - HARA'S HERBIE AT STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 380m

 

8 Sweet Child – Late scratching at 4:30pm on 23/01/2025 pursuant to GAR 76(2) due to illness the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nominations will be accepted.

 

 

Race 8 - GARBUTT NEWS & POST OFFICE PATHWAYS FINAL 5PW 380m

 

7 Shirl’s Memory – Shifted ground in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right hip support, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Stewards spoke to trainers representative Ms. J. Wooler regarding the greyhounds’ action in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

 

 

Race 9 - GIANTS SEAFOOD 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 380m

 

8 Angelic Zaphera – Appeared awkward in its action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. D. Preh regarding the greyhounds’ actions in the home straight. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule and Mr. Preh was instructed to report back to the Stewards should any abnormalities in the greyhound become apparent in the coming days. Mr. Preh reported to Stewards on Saturday 25/01/2025 that the greyhound was displaying muscle soreness in the right foreleg.

 

 

Race 10 - WEE WIN KENNELS 5TH GRADE HEAT 5 GRADE 5 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 11 – ROBERT OLSEN 5TH GRADE HEAT 6 GRADE 5 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 12 - STARLINE EXPRESS AT STUD 5TH GRADE HEAT 7 GRADE 5 380m

 

6 Miss the Deck – Faltered in its stride in the back straight, took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left hind leg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.
