Race 1 - DREW WOOLER MAIDEN HEAT 1 MAIDEN 380m

 

3 Three Hearts – Shifted out shortly after the start checking other runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left foreleg, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Rhonda Essery regarding the greyhounds’ racing manners at box rise. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

 

8 White Cockatoo – Shifted in shortly after the start checking other runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Rhonda Essery regarding the greyhounds’ racing manners at box rise. After considering all available evidence, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

 

 

Race 2 - BRIAN & HAZEL D'ARCY MAIDEN HEAT 2 MAIDEN 380m

 

6 Maddy’s On Fire – Checked off the heels of another runner rounding the first turn and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right wrist, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 90 days and must complete a satisfactory trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

 

8 Golden Rake – Shortly after the start shifted inwards abruptly and made muzzle contact with another runner. Dragged down rounding the first turn and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to both hind legs. Under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Ms. Rhonda Essery regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR123 Marring (1st offence) – 28 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

 

Race 3 - CHEAPA AUTO SPARES NOVICE (1) 380m

 

The photo finish failed to capture during this event. Placings were determined by the Judge using available means and confirmed by the Stewards prior to the all clear signal being given.

 

4 Isinbayeva – Knuckled over at the start. Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the left shoulder, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. Mathew Hobbs regarding the greyhound’s performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory and under the provisions of GAR129 the greyhound must complete a satisfactory trial prior to future nominations being accepted.

 

 

Race 4 - HARA'S HERBIE AT STUD NOVICE (2) 380m

 

1 Tilly’s Son – (Beaten favourite) A pre-race sample was obtained. Slow to begin. Checked rounding the first turn.

 

2 Miss Shylock – Dragged down rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the left hind leg and a strain of the left shoulder, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 10 days.

 

 

Race 5 - WEE WIN KENNEL PATHWAYS HEAT 1 5PW 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 6 - BURDEKIN VET SERVICES GRADE 5 (1) 380m

 

2 Pink Car – Bumped and checked in the back straight. Bumped and checked rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the neck, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 5 days.

 

 

Race 7 - ROSS WILKIE FISHING GRADE 5 (2) 380m

 

No matters of concern to Stewards.

 

 

Race 8 - BROOKE HEATH 5TH GRADE FINAL GRADE 5 380m

 

1 Saintly Highway – Checked across heels entering the first turn. Rounded the first turn extremely wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the left back muscle, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Mark Partland regarding how Saintly Highway raced around the first turn with Mr. Partland stating that after checking across heels entering the turn, the greyhound became unbalanced for several strides and raced wide before recovering balance. Stewards noted the explanation and gave the greyhound the benefit of the doubt as to if it had contravened any rule.

 

 

Race 9 - GLEN HARRIS PATHWAYS HEAT 2 5PW 380m

 

2 All Up – Raced wide rounding the home turn. Appeared to ease in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the right shoulder and a strain to the right back muscle, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 7 days. Steward’s spoke to trainer Mr. Danny Preh regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After considering all available evidence, Stewards invoked GAR125 Failure to pursue by reason of injury – 7 days stand down at Townsville and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Mr Preh stated it is his intention to retire All Up.

 

7 Golden Snitch – Appeared awkward in its action rounding the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions on the left hind foot, under the provisions of GAR41(1) the greyhound was stood down for 3 days.

 

 

Race 10 - MPL REFRIGERATION PATHWAYS HEAT 3 5PW 380m
