Race 1: J & J SYPHER CONTRACTING ALAN PECKETT MEMORIAL QTIS Maiden Plate (1200 metres)
 
OUR YOUNG MAN – Slow into stride.
 
PRIZED ARTIST – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey T. Brummell was suspended under the provisions of AR132(5) for excessive use of the whip on 19 occasions in total, 5 more than permitted. Jockey Brummell’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence midnight 25/06/2022 to conclude midnight 03/07/2022.
 
BROOK’S GIRL – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
HYPE WIRE – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Jockey P. Randall was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
KUKINTA – Slow to begin.
 
TYPHOON TALAYAH – Jockey M. Butler was suspended under the provisions of AR132(5) for excessive use of the whip on 19 occasions in total, 5 more than permitted. Jockey Butler’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight the 03/07/2022 to conclude midnight 14/07/2022.
 
CAJUN LADY – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 2: PAT DILLON MEMORIAL Class B Handicap (1200 metres)

RED ZORRO – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOVE OVER GOLD – Was declared a late scratching at 11:26am on veterinary advice. After injuring itself in the float prior to arriving on course, a veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg. Trainer P. O’Toole was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next future race start.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
I’M STROLLING – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event. When questioned regarding the performance in today’s event, Jockey J. Missen stated that the filly failed to handle today’s track conditions and as a result failed to respond to his riding urges.
 
SKY TOUCH – Hung out in the home straight. Jockey P. Romeo was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
BOOTYFUL DIVA – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOVE YOU LINDA – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 3: YARALLA DROUGHTMASTERS Class 6 Plate (1200 metres)
 
ARCHADE – Bumped on jumping by ENTERPRISE GRAND. Raced in restricted room passing the 800m before shifting out to obtain clear racing room. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
NO REFUND – Bumped on jumping by KARENO.
 
STRIKE POINT – When questioned regarding the performance in today’s event, Jockey J. Missen stated that his mount failed to handle today’s track conditions throughout the event and the gelding had hung out from the 600m, placing the rider in some difficulty steering.
 
KARENO – Jumped away awkwardly, bumping NO REFUND.
 
ENTERPRISE GRAND – Shifted in on jumping, hampering WICKED WENCH (NZ). Shortly after the start, shifted out bumping ARCHADE.
 
YULE MY HERO – Jockey B. Richardson was fined $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 8 times prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.
 
WICKED WENCH (NZ) – Hampered on jumping by ENTERPRISE GRAND, losing considerable ground.
 
AURIC GOLD – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: KIM FORD CONTRACTING Class B Handicap (1000 metres)
 
CUBIX – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
WHY WOULDN’T YOU – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
ASBURY PARK – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Hung in throughout the home straight.
 
KING CONI – Shifted out on jumping, bumping ALLELUIA.
 
CURIC – Shifted in on jumping, bumping ALLELUIA.
 
ALLELUIA – Bumped on jumping by KING CONI which shifted out and CURIC which shifted in.
 
POLLARD – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5: BALLARD TRANSPORT BELYANDO BRACELET OPEN Handicap (1000 metres)
 
FULLY MAXED – Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped with WALL STREET TYCOON. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
DRAYMAN – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHAMBERLAIN – Tailed off from the remainder of the field from the 800m, taking no further competitive part in the event. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey M. Schrapel advised stewards that he could not offer any explanation for todays performance and stated that the gelding may not have handled today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 6: ALPHA COMMUNITY CUP OPEN Handicap (1700 metres)
 
LIVE AND FREE (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
LINE UP – Upon returning to scale, Apprentice Jockey A. Bakos stated that the mare failed to handle today’s track conditions and as a result had failed to respond to her riding urges.
 
NO INUENDO – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PAST TENSE – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: CLERMONT CONCRETE BETAPOLY BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1700 metres)
 
TANGO TINO – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
JERRY ZANDA – Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Missen stated that the gelding resented the kick back of the track throughout the event, placing the rider at a disadvantage.
 
PORTABELLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
REALLY REALLY GOOD – Fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Slow to begin and as a result failed to muster early speed. When questioned regarding the performance in today’s event, Jockey R. Faehr stated that after jumping away awkwardly and failing to muster early speed, the mare failed to maintain a position with the remainder of the field. Jockey Faehr also stated that the mare failed to handle the track’s condition in today’s event, and the step up in racing distance may have been a contributing factor.
