SUSIE QUE was held up for clear running from the 450m until the 200m

RACE 2: H'CAP – THE COCA COLA OPEN H’CAP- 1000M

Prior to correct weight being declared, D Crossland the rider of MANNDO (2nd Placegetter) requested to view the stewards patrol video near the 100 metres with a view of lodging an objection. After viewing the film, D Crossland decided not to lodge an objection.

SEARCHLIGHT was slow to begin

Over the concluding stages PROFLIGATE shifted out making minor contact with MANNDO.

RACE 4: H'CAP – WATSON & HOWLETT EARTHMOVING CLASS 2 H’CAP- 1200M

Leaving the 800m NEONATURAL had to be steadied to avoid the heels of LOYALIST which shifted in momentarily.

RACE 5: H'CAP – THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE CLASS 4 H’CAP 1400M

Acting on a report of trainer R Chillemi who indicated that FAITHFUL ROSE was lame in the near fore leg, that mare was examined upon arrival at the course by the club Vet and was scratched on Vet’s advice at 3.10 p.m. Trainer Mr R Chillemi was advised that FAITHFUL ROSE would require a Vet’s Certificate before next race start.

EARLY BRIGHT jumped awkwardly and in minor contact with IRUKA.

IRUKA tended to over race in the middle stages of race.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of EARLY BRIGHT, E Kowald explained that after jumping awkwardly, the gelding initially travelled quite well to the 600m, however upon leaving the 600m EARLY BRIGHT actually commenced to lose ground despite being hard ridden. The trainers representative L Costini was similarly mystified by EARLY BRIGHT’S poor performance. A veterinary examination of EARLY BRIGHT failed to reveal any abnormality.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
