RIDING CHANGES
When Jockey P Cullen was injured at yesterday’s Townsville trials Stewards permitted the following changes as per the Steward’s summary;

Race 1: Central Tyre Service Benchmark 55 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – RAPT IN RUMBA 2nd – ZOE BAY 3rd – EREBUS 4th – TIERES TOUCH

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice M Kai the rider of fifth placegetter NINETYNINE PERCENT to view the photo of the finish. After viewing the photo Apprentice Kai was satisfied with the judge’s result and correct weight was declared.

AVELLINO - Began awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

PRIMED FOR ACTION - Fractious in the barriers resulting in the gelding being slow away.

TIERES TOUCH - Raced wide without cover in the early stages.

ZOE BAY - Was inclined to race keenly and lay out in the middle stages.

EREBUS - Approaching the 200m was disappointed for a run and had to be shifted wider on the track to obtain clear running.

Race 2: Village Roses QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st –TOXICITY 2nd – I AM BRUSE 3rd – ZATOCHIO 4th – MICHELLE’S LUCK

NOVA CHINA - Shifted out abruptly at the start losing ground.

RED SHAWL - Bumped by another runner at the start. Raced ungenerously throughout the early and middle stages and had to be continually steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

ZATOCHIO - Shifted out and bumped another runner at the start.

MAYBE I'M AMAZED - Hampered shortly after the start. Rounding the turn near the 800m was racing tight to the inside of another runner and made contact with the running rail.

HUMPTY BUMPTY - Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with another runner.

I MISSED MICK- Approaching the turn near the 800m improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

TOXICITY - Rounding the turn near the 800m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of HOPEFULLY GOOD (Jockey S Kaya) which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey S Kaya was advised to exercise more care. Apprentice M Kai was reprimanded under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for striking his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted under the rules.

Race 3: Tolga Hotel Benchmark 65 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SCHNELLES PFERD 2nd – STARLIGHT BELLE 3rd – SIZZLELON 4th – TESTAMYCOLOURS

STARLIGHT BELLE – Rounding the home turn when attempting a run to the outside of another had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels when that runner shifted out marginally.

TESTAMYCOLOURS – Passing the 100m shifted in under and had to be checked when awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner.

CYCLONE LARRY - Jockey K Stone rider of fifth placegetter was reprimanded under AR144 for failing to weigh in.

Race 4: Become A Member Of The ATC Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – BUSH VERSION 2nd – CANNES CONI 3rd – WILD DIVA 4th – MAN OF BUSINESS

LOVE YA STYLE – Crowded at the start.

When the pace steadied passing the 900m BLUE DANUBE (Jockey J Felix), BOOK A FLIGHT (Jockey K Stone) and LOVE YA STYLE (Jockey B Swaffer) all commenced to overrace.

CANNES CONI - Raced wide without cover throughout.

MAKE EVEN - Jockey S Kaya rider of fifth placegetter was reprimanded under AR144 for failing to weigh in.

Race 5: Tolga Hotel Benchmark 65 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – WICKED THOUGHTS 2nd – HE’S HARADA’S SON 3rd – BIG TOMEE 4th – SECRET OWN

SERIKOS FLYER – Slow to begin.

BIG TOMEE – Began awkwardly with its head up then raced ungenerously in the early stages. Shortly after straightening shifted out and made contact with another runner.

PURRFECT TYCOON – Shortly after straightening was bumped by another runner.
