Race 2: Bundaberg Rum & Barron Valley Hotel Open Handicap 1000 metres:1st – CHEVAL ARGENTE 2nd – GUEPARDO 3rd – BAR ATTACK 4th – FIESTY BELLEBAR ATTACK – Began awkwardly after losing its footing at the jump.CHEVAL ARGENTE – Knuckled on jumping.FIESTY BELLE – Was slowly into stride after being crowded between runners on jumping. Was inclined to lay in for a short distance soon after straightening.RAPT IN RUMBA – Was inclined to lay in when under pressure over the concluding stages.Stewards acting under the provisions of AR137A fined Jockey S Wilson the sum of $300.00 for using the whip on GUEPARDO on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres. Race 3: Emerson’s Bus Company Maiden Plate 1200 metres:1st – HONEST FRIEND 2nd – WILL HE TORQUE 3rd – MONASHEE LASS 4th – DAZZLING PRIDEHONEST FRIEND - Was fractious in the barriers. Was inclined to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages.WILL HE TORQUE - Bumped with another runner on jumping.DAZZLING PRIDE - Bumped with another runner on jumping. After viewing the footage Jockey Wiseman advised Stewards that she wished to lodge an objection against HONEST FRIEND ridden by Jockey S Kaya being placed 1st, claiming that HONEST FRIEND had shifted in inside the final 100 metres causing Jockey Wiseman to take hold of WILL HE TORQUE resulting in a loss of ground in excess of the neck margin which separated the two runners. After hearing evidence from both Jockeys as well as Mr. T Rowe, the Trainer of WILL HE TORQUE, and Mr. G Baker, the Trainer of HONEST FRIEND and viewing the available patrol footage Stewards acknowledged that although HONEST FRIEND had shifted in, any resulting inconvenience suffered by WILL HE TORQUE had been minimal and dismissed the objection, declaring correct weight on the semaphored numbers.Race 4: Elders Insurance & Real Estate MM/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers BM 50 Hcp 1400 metres: 1st – BIG TOMEE 2nd – I AM BRUSE 3rd – FRUMBOLI 4th – BUSH VERSIONFRUMBOLI – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Jockey W D’Avila reported that the mare had not been comfortable in the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
