Race 1 – Mickey Thompson Tyres Maiden Plate 1100m
Ultimate Dancer – The mare which was resuming following a prolonged absence from racing was examined by the Veterinarian pre-race and was cleared to start. Had to be restrained when over-racing near the 800m.
Benvenuti – Shifted out abruptly on jumping.
Sunny Sailor – Shifted in abruptly on jumping causing Jockey S Pawsey to lose his near side iron placing him at a disadvantage in the early stages.
La Shaft – Slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping. Unable to muster pace in the early stages.
Quezmar – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Raced wide in the middle stages.
Bobtheaccountant – Slowly away. Lost off fore plate in running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the colt to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer S Wilson was advised a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to the colt be permitted to again start in a race.
Race 2 – BF Goodrich Tyres Class B Handicap 1200m
Jockey S Pawsey who was to be overweight was replaced by Jockey M Kai as the rider of Flamin’ Sid. As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey Kai to ride the gelding 1 kilogram over it’s allotted weight. Jockey Pawsey was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3).
Uncharted – Shifted in abruptly on jumping, hampering another runner. Was unable to muster pace in the early stages. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Mt Peter Miss – Began awkwardly. Soon after jumping was taken in by another runner which shifted in abruptly. Was unable to muster pace in the early stages and finished tailed off. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A Bailey advised he intends to implement a gear change prior to the filly’s next race start but was nonetheless advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s competitiveness.
Tapthetill – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
De Lady Deluxe – Over-raced in the early stages.
Ziegelbauer – Raced wide for the majority.
Rothstock’n’bella – Hung in for the majority. Trainer R Moller advised he intends to implement a gear change prior to the gelding’s next race start but was nonetheless advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
Whinging Wife – After racing in a prominent position, tired noticeably over concluding stages. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities
Following the running of this race Jockey G Watson who advised Stewards he had suffered an injury to his left arm in running was stood down from his remaining engagements by QAS Officers. Replacements were made as per race day summary. Jockey Watson was advised he would be required to provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride.
 
Race 3 – Goodyear Auto Care Race To The Reef Open Handicap - Heat 1000m
How Can I Help – Began Awkwardly.
Super Shoes – Failed to muster pace in the early stages. Jockey S Kaya when questioned stated that the gelding which was resuming in today’s race had failed to handle the soft conditions nonetheless Stewards advised Jockey Kaya a rider of his experience would be expected to exercise more vigour in an effort to maintain contact with the field. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to the near hind leg.
Michani Redman – Raced wide for the majority.
Concluder – Raced wide for the majority.
Keen Instinct – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 4 – Michelin Tyres Benchmark 55 Handicap 1400m
Donavia – Reared as the start was affected, losing ground. Raced wide in the middle stages.
Gunga Galunga – Slowly into stride. Was unable to muster pace in the early stages. Lost off hind plate in running. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a minor puncture to the off hind hoof.
Flying Fero – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Presidential Joy – Raced wide for the majority.
Race 5 – Central Tyre Service Magic Millions FNQ Up & Coming Stayers Benchmark 60 Handicap 1800m
Honest Natalie – Slowly away.
Kensington Star – Shifted in near the 1600m when not fully clear tightening another runner. Jockey S Kaya was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.
Great Pretender – Raced wide for the majority.
Barwon – Jockey S Pawsey was of the opinion that the gelding which raced below market expectations had failed hand today’s soft conditions.
