Race 1 – PANORAMA VIEWS ESTATE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000m
Makarios – Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
Watch Me Dazzle Em - Slowly into stride after bumping with another runner on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages.
Countless Rock – Over-raced in the middle stages. Shifted ground outwards under pressure in the home straight.
Jockey F Edwards was fined the sum of $100.00 under the provisions of AR132(a)(7)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
Race 2 – COSTA BERRY BLITZ BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1100m
Scripts – Slowly into stride.
Strong Will – Shifted out on jumping and bumped with another runner.
This Girls On Fire – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
Miss Celita – Inconvenienced when racing in restricted room in the middle stages.
Sir Roland – Raced wide for the majority.
Rangerzane – Raced wide for the majority.
Shudakeptim – Raced wide for the majority.
Casino Evil - Raced wide for the majority.
Stewards inquired into the reason why Scripts (P Romeo) was checked near the 900m losing its position in running. After hearing evidence from Jockey Romeo, Jockey F Edwards who rode Sir Roland, and viewing the available patrol footage it was established that just prior to that point Scripts had commenced to over-race as Jockey Edwards was attempting to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail resulting in Scripts having to be checked off the heels of Sir Roland. Although Stewards in their deliberation did place some weight on the racing manners of Scripts they nonetheless severely reprimanded Jockey Edwards for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a).
Race 3 – SAVANNAH CAMPERS & TRAILERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
Uptown Toff- Began very awkwardly. Shifting out abruptly hampering runners to its outside. Raced wide for the majority.
Aritomo- Hampered soon after jumping.
Taveuni- Hampered soon after jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
Past Ready- Hampered soon after jumping.
What’s Rockin’- Shifted in on jumping and bumped with another runner.
More Grit- Bumped by another runner on jumping.
Mulligans- Restrained after improving onto heels near the 500m.
Fure- Raced greenly in the middle stages.
Cool Attitude- Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 700m.
Race 4 – CENTRAL TYRE SERVICE OPEN HANDICAP 1200m
Ruler - Late scratching at 8.28am. Lame near fore. Trainer Mr. A Malliff was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.
Make Amends - Late scratching at 10.00am. Transport difficulties. Trainer Mr. D Jones will be required to furnish documentation with details.
Union Jukebox- Blundered soon after jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
Sweet Taste- Shifted in on jumping bumping with another runner. Lost ground near the 1100m when racing tight between runners.
Space Time- Bumped by another runner on jumping. Shifted out abruptly near the 1100m making heavy contact with another runner.
Platinum Tycoon- Near the 1100m when attempting to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail shifted in sharply tightening another runner.
Race 5 – TABLELAND VETERINARY SERVICE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
Donavia- Proved difficult to load. Had to be restrained when racing tight between runners near the 1300m and again near the 1250m. Trainer Mr M Jokic was advised the gelding would be required to obtain one (1) further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
Speed Eight- Slowly away.
Liberation Lad- Slowly away.
Backtospec- Slowly away. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer Ms. S Horner was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.
Kensington Star- Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Cortesta- Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority.
Ziegelbauer- Raced wide for the majority.
Stewards inquired into an incident which took place near the 1250m resulting in interference to several runners. After taking evidence from G Watson (Drops Of Jupiter), P Cullen (Donavia), M Elliott (Celestial Jewel), P Romeo (Triumph Star), App. S Gittos (Ziegelbauer) and S Kaya (Kensington Star), Stewards severely reprimanded S Kaya for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that at that point of the race he failed to make sufficient effort, when improving forward, to prevent his mount from shifting in tightening the aforementioned runners to varying degrees.
Race 6 – BARRON VALLEY HOTEL/LIQUOR LEGENDS/XXXX ATHERTON CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1800m
IM NOT SURE- Slowly away.
VASSAL- Slowly away.
INVERNESS EXPRESS- Shifted in crowding another runner near the 1600m. Jockey J Felix was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
CRIMSON HALO- Restrained when crowded by another runner near the 1600m. Tightened for running for some distance between the 900-800m making contact with the running rail.
SALESMAN- Raced wide for the majority.
HATZ SON- Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Shifted in bumping with another runner near the 900m.
Agility- Over-raced in the middle stages. Became unbalanced when bumped by another runner near the 900m. Commenced to lay-in near the 800m tightening a runner to it inside.
