Smith Race 1 – THE TOLGA MARKETS MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M ARITOMO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. TRIGGER – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. ELITE LABEL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 2 – ALL WHEEL DRIVE CENTRE CLASS B H’CAP – 1400M SPACEX – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted out to improve leaving the 1000m bumping another runner. SIDTHEKID – Bumped by another runner which shifted out near the 1000m. Race 3 – ATHERTON FAMILY DENTAL BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1200M HAND OF FAITH – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly inconveniencing runners to its outside. MADEMOISELLE POLLY – Inconvenienced on jumping away by another runner which shifted out abruptly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. SHAKUNI – Inconvenienced on jumping away by another runner which shifted out abruptly. THE BEE’S KNEES – Inconvenienced on jumping away by another runner which shifted out abruptly and lost ground. WATCH ME DAZZLE EM – Raced wide for the majority of the race. ROSE CLIP – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4 – HIT 97.9 TABLELANDS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1000M PARTY GLOW – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. AMULETO – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. TECZA – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a bleeding attack during the race. Trainer J. Ryan, was advised the horse would incur the mandatory ban under AR 79 (1) (4) of a first time bleeder of 3 months and only after passing a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Steward be permitted to race again. KEEN INSTINCT – Raced wide for the majority of the race. SIR ROLAND – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider A. Thomson returned to scale in excess of 1 kg over the allotted weight and was fined the sum of $200. RANGERZANE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5 – THE BATTERY STORE MARREEBA BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1800M I’M NOT SURE – Slow to begin. GOULDIAN – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 1500m and raced wide from that point onwards. Rider N. Yadi, was questioned in regards to the tactics adopted today, he stated after being slow to begin and when the pace slackened passing the winning post on the first occasion he elected to shift wider and improve his position, however when attempting to improve forward the runners inside of him also improved and he was unable to clear them and as such was obliged to race wide.
