Race 1: BOTTLEMART MALANDA MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 METRES

COMMANDING SUN – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer R. Finch was a advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

SHUTTER MONKEY – Slow to begin.

SPLASH OF PAINT – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have gone down on its near hind bumper.

PAMILL – Began awkwardly. Crowded for room near the 800 metres, shifted in and when being corrected raced greenly for a short distance. Saddle shifted back shortly after the start placing the rider at a disadvantage throughout the race.

WRONGLY ACCUSED – Laid in near the 800 metres crowding PAMILL. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

IL PRINCIPE – Raced wide in the early stages.

Race 2: 1911 RESTAURANT CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

PONDEROSA – Resented the tongue tie during the preliminary and permission was granted for the
gelding to race without that gear. This was broadcast via public announcement. Began awkwardly.

TECHNICIAN – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels approaching the 800 metres and shifted
to a three wide position for the remainder of the race.

GOHARDDONHULA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MAC ME MATE – Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the race.

Race 3: TOM ENGLISH MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

NEWSTEAD – Slow into stride.

STYLISH LINE – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.

PAST READY – Slow to begin.

WHITTERICK – Rider F. Edwards pleaded guilty to a charge of excessive whip under the
provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip on 18 occassions in totality which is four more
times then is permitted. F. Edwards licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of
eight (8) days to comence midnight 20 January 2021 and expire midnight 28 January 2021.
Mr Edwards was advised of his right to a review of this decision.

Race 4: SPAR MALANDA BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

MISS CERLITA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

ANARCHY – Slow to begin.

Race 5: MALANDA HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

BOOMTOWN BABE – Prior to the race connections advised Stewards it would be the intention to lead if circumstances permitted today. This was broadcast via public announcement. The mare was ridden accordingly.

DIVINE MELODY – Slow to begin.

LOVE FLIES – Slow to begin

MURTALLICA – Lost its off hind plate during running.

BOOMTOWN BABE – Lost its off hind during running.
