Race 1: BOTTLEMART MALANDA MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 Metres
 
SHORT NAP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
ARCTIC DASHER – Shifted out on jumping brushing READY TO REASON and then raced in restricted room for a short distance and was steadied. Had a tendency to lay out for the majority of the race.
 
READY TO REASON – Brushed on the hindquarters on jumping and shifted in placing ARCTIC DASHER in restricted room.  
 
AUGUSTA REVOLUTION – Raced keenly in the early stages.

Race 2: 1911 RESTAURANT CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
 
NANNA KNUCKEY – As the mare had not raced for an extended period, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
AIR FORCE ACE – Began awkwardly.
 
RUE LEPIC – Blundered on jumping causing its saddle to shift to the off-side placing apprentice T. Townsend at a distinct disadvantage resulting in her restraining her mount to regain her balance and as a result took no competitive part in the race.  


Race 3: TOM ENGLISH MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
 
STRATEGIST – Slow to begin.

THUNDER MOON – Slow to begin.
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Shifted in at the start brushing the running rail.
 
Following persistent rain the track was downgraded to a Soft (6).
 
Race 4: SPAR MALANDA QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
Due to weather closing in Races 4 and 5 were brought forward in an effort to complete the
meeting.  
 
ZAKHEERA – Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer D. Reynolds was advised he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the mare prior to its next start.

BLEND – Slow to begin.
 
OCTOBER STORM – Slow to begin.
 
BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
 
PICTON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to both eyes in which it received treatment.  
 
Following persistent rain the track was downgraded to a Heavy (8).
 
Race 5: THE BIG PUB MALANDA BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
 
SEEFELD – Slow to begin.Was eased out of the race leaving the 400 metres.A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. SEEFELD shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)

BRADBURY'S EXPRESS – Attempted to buck soon after the start. Connections were advised it must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.
