Slow to begin.Sirene Rouge – Fractious in the barriers. Shifted out wide to improve leaving the 700 meters and continued to race wide. Race 2:CENTRAL TYRE SERVICE QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 3-Y-O & Up. Cl3 Set Weights 1200 Metres Bloomin' Ripper– Was declared a late scratching at 10.30am when no rider was available to fulfil the engagement. Witness Attack – Slow to begin. Redavni – Shifted out at the start bumping GAMADALE NIP. On returning to scales jockey N. Day reported to stewards he was of the opion that the mare was in season. Stable representive R. Ryan agreed with jockey Day’s assesment and further added that dropping back to 1200 meters of todays race may also have had a bearing on the mares performance today. Gamadale Nip – Slow to begin. Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.Golden Charles – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Race 3:WATTO'S EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000 Metres Rothgurl– Was declared a late scratching at 10.30am when no rider was available to fulfil the engagement. Swahili Mai– Made contact with the running rail when parading behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Barmera – Fractious in the barriers and bounded in the air making contact with its outside barrier gate and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Denims – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 4:ATHERTON TABLELAND AIR SERVICE OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres Bonython – When no suitable rider was available that could ride the allotted weight for the gelding and hearing an application from trainer S. Hoffman, stewards exceeded to the request for jockey M. Abe to ride BONYTON 2kgs over its allotted weight. This was disseminated to the on-course announcer. Call Me Mo – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Desert Cowboy – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages. Restrained off heels near the 500 meters. Made the home turn awkwardly and had to be restrained and shifted in brushing the inside running rail when attempting a narrow run to the inside of POMADE which shifted in approaching the 100 meters. Rider N. Yadi was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. Pomade – Shifted in approaching the 100 meters placing DESERT COWBOY in restricted room. Yes DREAM – Raced wide for the majority. Race 5:BARRON VALLEY HOTEL & BUNDY RUM BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400 Metres Little Red Pepper– Was declared a late scratching at 10.30am when no rider was available to fulfil the engagement. Hello Newman – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.Wishnowsky – Slow to begin losing considerable ground. Trainer L. Terzi was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Commenced to over race leaving the 1200 meters having to be restrained off heels near the 1000 meters. How Awesome – Wide in the early and middle stages. Spontaneous Choice – Raced wide in the early and middle stages improving onto heels near the 1000 meters shifting wider again. When questioned into its performance today rider F. Edwards stated the horse felt good in its action however after over racing in the middle stages and shifting wider on the track commenced to compound and for this reason, he did not place the horse under pressure over the concluding stages. Trainer A. Malliff concurred with jockey Edwards comments and gave an undertaking to advise stewards that should anything comes to his attention in the oncoming days that may have had a bearing its performance.Lord Power – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
