QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AUGATHELLA RACE CLUB MONDAY 10th APRIL 2023 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING –GOOD- DIRT RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T PrestonStewards – W GlassClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B LinesVeterinarian – Dr C ScottStarter – E Brassington General ROSSETTES and MORICONI- raced at Barcaldine Race Club on Saturday the 8th of April 2023 neither will incur a penalty as a result. Jky I French was injured during the running of Race 1 and further aggravated the injury in Race 2 was then stood down by order of Stewards acting on medical advice by QAS staff and replaced as per the Stewards Summary. Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting: Race 2- BEAN A BAD GIRL- Jky N Fazackerley +1.0kg, Appr Jky S Willcock was unable to claim her allowance in full. Stewards accepted her explanation and weight claim variations are the following: Race 2- 1.0kg, Race 3 and Race 5- .5kg. Race 1: AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY CHOICE &AUGATHELLA RURAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 METRES FLASH FIBIAN- Raced keenly during the early stages of the event. IN’HINCHABLE- Broke through the barriers prior to the start being affected and was pulled up quickly by the rider. Pre-race Vet examine was undertaken and subsequently passed fit to start. I LOVE THIS HIPPY- When approaching the 500m turn shifted out before being corrected by the rider. Raced wide for the majority of the event. VON SAGA- Slow to begin. Over raced during the middle stages of the event. On entering the 500m turn shifted out before being corrected by the rider. Stewards acting under the provision of AR132(7)(a)(ii) reprimanded Appr Jky T Leslight for his use of the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m point, 2 more than permitted. NO NAY EMERALD- Raced wide for the majority of the event. The saddle slipped badly at approximately the 500m point resulting in the rider being unable to test his mount out fully. Jky I French advised Stewards he had sustaining an injury in running. QAS staff examined Jky French and after consultation deemed him fit to continue. Race 2: LAND TRANSPORT- CLASS B HANDICAP 1000 METRE The start of this event was delayed due to FRIDAY’S JET and EIL’N’All breaking through the barriers prior to the start. GENTLEMAN REID- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority. FRIDAYS JET- Became fractious in the barriers and had its head over the side petition of the allocated barrier then broke through the gates running fiercely for some distance before being caught in the mounting yard. Stewards acting on Vets advice declared FRIDAY’S Jet a late scratching at 2.21pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, all monies invested on FRIDAY’S JET prior to 2.21pm were ordered to be refunded less the following deductions being applied to the following: EIL” N”ALL -Win- 21c Plc 17c, BUBBLE BATH- 2nd place 11c and THE SABBATH- 3rd place 11c. THE SABBATH- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event began to improve into the race from the 500m. Jky I French advised Stewards he aggravated his injury from the previous race and after being examined by QAS staff was stood down by order of Stewards acting on medical advice. Jky I French was advised he would require a medical Certificate prior to riding again. EIL’N’ALL- Broke through the barrier prior to the start being affected and was pulled up by the rider without incident. No veterinary examination was required. OUTBACK STEP- Shortly after the start began to race greenly during the early stages before settling from approximately the 800m point. ROSETTES- A pre-race Veterinary examination was undertaken due to racing at Barcaldine 8/4/2023 and passed fit to race today. GHETTO- Began to hang in for some distance after entering the home straight. BUBBLE BATH- Hung in during the early stages of the event before being corrected by the rider. RIPOVA- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority. RACE 3- EXCAVATION EQUIPMENT QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1300 METRES FIGURE IT OUT- Dipped at the start. SIR JOHNY- Hung in during the middle stages of the event. VALE STREET- Began awkwardly. HIGHLAND THUNDER- Began awkwardly and jumped out at the start. TEKAWITHA- Raced at the rear of the field during the early stages of the event then raced wide from the 1000m point for the majority in an effort to avoid the kick back. RACE 4- LYN & JACK CARMICHAEL MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1300 METRES CRAIG AND HOFF- On entering the home straight had to be checked and then when leaving the 300m began to lay in resulting in FORGED IN STONE being crowed and losing ground. Stewards enquired into the incident from the 300m point and after hearing evidence from all parties and viewing the footage available to them found that Appr JKY S Willlcock had taken reasonable action in attempting to correct her mount in easing pressure to her inside.. HEEBEE RIGHT MATE- Laid in marginally at the 200m point when weakening. FORGED IN STONE- Leaving the 300m point as a result of CRAIG AND HOFF hanging in was crowded for room, lost momentum and began to lose ground from that point. FUNKY FARM- Raced at the rear of the field during the early stages of the event then began to make up considerable ground from the 500m racing wide from that point then after entering the home straight ran on strongly over the final stages. RACE 5- SHERIDAN DELFORCE TRANSPORT MEATANT CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1300 METRES TANGO TINO- Attempted to sit down in the barriers just prior to the start. Slow to begin and as a result raced towards the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Jky P Hamblin advised Stewards the mare did not improve despite his best efforts to do so. Trainer W Pugsley was advised that the mare would require a barrier pass prior to racing again. Post-Race Veterinary examination failed to detect any abnormalities VINAIGRETTE- Laid in under pressure in the home straight for a short distance. PHYLAVE- Raced wide for the majority of the event and laid in for some distance in the home straight. MORICONI- Pre- Race Veterinary examination undertaken due to racing at Barcaldine 8/4/2023 and subsequently passed fit to run today. FAMILY FIRST- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Tended to lay out in running. Acting under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) Appr Jky L Sykes was reprimanded by Stewards for his use of the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m point, 2 more than permitted.
