QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BARCALDINE RACING CLUB – SATURDAY 1ST JULY 2017 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SAND (4) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. Cullen Race 1: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres NAYTELLRHI WORLD – Travelled wide in the early stages. BURJ AL – Travelled wide in the early stages. BUSH BELLA – Raced ungenerously throughout and jockey P. Romeo stated the filly felt sore and was reluctant to stretch out. A post-race veterinary inspection showed no abnormalities. ROSIE’S SON – Jockey R. Faehr dropped his whip at the 300m. ZOOMING – Jockey N. Morton stated the gelding did not handle the heavy track conditions. Race 2: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 65 HANDICAP - 1000 metres NO OTHER WAY was a late scratching at 12.30pm as there were riders available. CRYSTAL MATES – Slow into stride and tightened for room at the 75m and eased when an outside runner shifted ground. STYLISH SON – Was hampered at the start when a gate bounced back on the gelding and travelled wide for the majority. RHYTHM NATION – Lay in down the home straight under pressure tightening runners to the inside. Jockey J. Babarovich was reprimanded for his use of the whip in the straight. FAST FOCUS – Jockey N. Morton was fined $100 for her excessive use of the whip in the straight. GO SAI – Tightened for room over the concluding stages when an outside runner shifted ground. Jockey E. Kacmaz and connections viewed the patrol footage prior to correct weight being given. Race 3: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB CLASS 3 PLATE - 1300 metres ARMANI PRINCE and I KAN CONQUER were both late scratchings at 12:30pm as there were no riders available. PARANA – Slow to begin. BELLA SONG – Over raced in the early stages. AUSSIE BOB – Approaching the 1100m the gelding jumped the water marks on the track and shifted out abruptly. HUSSON’S SHOUT – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages of the event. HIGHWAY CHILD – Jockey N. Morton stated the gelding didn’t handle the heavy track conditions or the distance of the race. Race 4: ROADS TO ROMA QUALIFIER OPEN PLATE - 1300 metres VICTORIAN CROWN – Slow to begin. FOUR IRON – Slow into stride. Race 5: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 50 HANDICAP - 1600 metres MY SISTER SUE – Was a late scratching at 10:39am. BUNDABURRA – Stood flat footed in the gates missing the start by several lengths then over raced in the early stages. NORTHERN MAGIC – Over raced in the early stages.
