Rafter Race 1: BILL TURNER AND IRENE CLEWS BM 55 HANDICAP - 1000 metres WALLBANGER was a late scratching at 2.00pm as there were no jockeys available. PETITE ELLE – Late scratching at 3.14pm when the mare reared behind the barriers and dislodged jockey A. Ross and galloped back to the tie up stalls. Deductions were announced with correct weight being 31 cents in the dollar value of the win bet and 21 cents in the dollar value of place bets. A. Ross was uninjured in the fall and resumed her duties for the day. BON DANCER – Slow into stride and travelled wide. Race 2: UNION HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres B. Rafter was the starter for race two due to M. Cullen being a part owner in one of the horses starting. ANGRY DESERT – Slow to begin. FRIGHTENING DELAGO – Slow into stride and slow to muster speed in the early stages then travelled wide. DARTS – Slow to begin. THE PENNY DROPPED – Hung out rounding the first turn. BROW ROWEL – Travelled wide in the middle stages and lay in down the home straight. Race 3: BARCALDINE WELDING WORKS CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres BRIBE THE WITNESS was a late scratching at 2pm as there were no jockeys available. SALLY’S SHADOW – Slow to begin. SEA PRAISE – Jumped away awkwardly and slow into stride. Nearing the 800m clipped heels when over racing in restricted room and was shifted wide to gain clear running. Race 4: ROONEY’S RURAL CONTRACTORS OPEN HANDICAP - 1200 metres ZENDAYE – Travelled wide for much of the race. MONO LAD – Over raced in the early stages. HOT VINNI – Failed muster any early speed. CHIEF ADVOCATE – Shifted out under pressure down the home straight. OUR BEATNIK – Slow into stride. Race 5: BEAUTY & BEYOND BARCALDINE BM 60 HANDICAP - 1300 metres AMADEO, PART THE SEA and DO I HAVE TO be all late scratchings at 4pm as there were no jockeys available. L. Dillon was the rider of MOQWAO and permitted to ride 1 kg overweight. ERECTOR – Reared in the mounting yard dislodging jockey J. Lait who was uninjured and continued to fulfil his engagement.
