RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT BARCALDINE RACING CLUB – SATURDAY 6THJULY, 2019 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – TURF (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. Cullen Race 1: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB QTIS CLASS 2 PLATE - 1000 metres MAKUBA – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages with no cover. ANGRY DESERT – Travelled wide for much of the race. BLAZING ISSUE – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the middle and late stages. PETITE ELLE – Lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. RED DECK – Travelled wide in the early stages. Returning to the mounting yard the mare was lame in the offside foreleg. Trainer D. Rewald was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. WICKED GRIMSHAW – Backed through the inside running rail on the prelimary and was cleared to race. There was a short delay as the inside running rail was repaired. Race 2: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB OPEN HANDICAP - 1100 metres SHIGERU MAHOGANY – Lay in over the concluding stages. BENCHI PEGASUS – Was fractious in the gates prior to the start. DRINKING COCKTAILS – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the middle and late stages of the race. Race 3: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 50 HANDICAP - 1300 metres NICCONI PASQUALE, DO I HAVE TO and THUNDER were all late scratchings at 12.30pm as there were no riders available. STYLISH LUCK – Slow into stride in the middle and late stages with no cover. SIR CHARLESTON – Jumped outward contacting OUR SAY. OUR SAY – Jumped away awkwardly and contacted at the start by an inside runner. NOTHING TO DANCE – Travelled wide with no cover. Race 4: RACE TO ROMA QUALIFER BM 69 HANDICAP - 1300 metres CRAWFISH – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages. THE BAKER – Travelled wide for much of the race. SONG ONE – Slow into stride. Race 5: BARCALDINE RACE CLUB BM 55 HANDICAP - 1600 metres OUTBACK PIRATE – Jockey D. Rewald was fined the sum of $200 for his use of the whip on the gelding. INDELO – Over raced in stages and hung out for much of the race. ALMONDELLA – Jockey Richardson believed the filly didn’t back up when questioned about the performance in the race. LORD RUSSEL – Slow into stride. FRIGHTENING DELAGO – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages of the race. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees FinesRace 5 – Jockey D.
