The Stewards questioned apprentice rider S Gittos regarding the manner he rode BOLLENTE. Mr Gittos confirmed the instructions given by trainer Mr Hermann. He advised that BOLLENTE had raced keenly through the early stages and after being caught three wide he elected to improve forward to lead. He acknowledged he should have given BOLLENTE some respite after reaching the lead rather than continue with the strong tempo of the race. Mr Gittos agreed that in hindsight he had pressured his mount under a heavy weight longer than he should have. Having regard to the explanation tendered the Stewards believed Mr Gittos had erred in the manner he rode BOLLENTE however were not satisfied it reached the required standard for pursuing a charge.
