Cullen GENERAL Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy. Trainer K. McGovern and jockey S. McGovern were unable to attend today’s meeting due to road closures. Rider changes below as per Race Day Summary. Race 1: RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE BM 55 HANDICAP 1000 metres TAPTHETILL was a late scratching due to road closures. CLASSIC WIND – Slow to begin and slow into stride. FLASH FIBIAN – Fractious prior to jumping, then slow to begin. MISS RHAPSODY – Jockey R. McMahon pleaded guilty to whip rule AR132(7)(a)(ii) and was fined the sum of $400 for his use of his whip on the mare using his whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m. ALGEROBA – Awkward to begin. OLIFANTS – Travelled wide with cover for much of the race. PURPLE TRUMPET – Travelled wide for much of the race. Race 2: RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres GOLDEN OUTBACK & SET TO FIGHT brushed on jumping. LOVE OVER GOLD – Raced greenly shortly after the start. OUR YOUNG MAN – Failed to muster early speed. SET TO FIGHT – Lay in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. REALLY REALLY GOOD – Slow to begin. UNLEISHA – Elected to ease when racing in restricted room leaving the 800m. Race 3: RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE OPEN HANDICAP 1200 metres There was a delay to correct weight as a protest was lodged by the second-place jockey E. Bell riding KALMAR against the first-place horse STAR of O’Reilly ridden by R. McMahon for alleged interference over the final 100m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage the protest was dismissed and correct weight was given on the judges’ placings. STAR OF O’REILLY – Slow to begin, travelled wide in the early and middle stages. Lay out near the 30m brushing KALMAR. DEVINE RED – Brushed at the 100m when KALMAR shifted outwards. KALMAR – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages, brushed at the 30m when STAR OF O’REILLY lay out. NO REFUND – Slow into stride. MUSIC AWARD – Bounded on jumping causing the gelding to be slow away. Race 4: RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE BM 50 HANDICAP 1300 metres JUST FAVULOUS – Travelled wide for much of the race. LET IT SIZZLE – Travelled wide in the early stages. HOT CHOCOLATE – Slow to begin. Race 5: RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE BM 50 HANDICAP 1300 metres SO EMPRESSIVE was a late scratching at 1:20pm due to a stable incident. Trainer T. Schofield was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare racing again. LASCO – Fractious in the gates and jumped away awkwardly. AURIC GOLD – Jockey B. Richardson reported the gelding lost an offside front shoe in running. Took offence approaching the 800m when racing in restricted room, throwing his head in the air for several strides. TWOGOBOOM – Jumped away awkwardly and slow then eased off heels shortly after the start. MISTRESS OF MONEY – Rounded the home turn extremely wide, Jockey R. Faehr reported he lost his whip at the top of the straight. Race 6:RHYS PEACOCK – RAY WHITE LONGREACH / BARCALDINE QTIS BM 60 HANDICAP 1600 metres LADY YENDOR – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
