GENERAL
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
 
 
Race 1: WELCOME TO BARCY MEET & MINGLE RACEDAY CLASS 6 PLATE 1000 metres
 
OLD TOWN ROAD was a late scratching due to no suitable rider being available.
 
ACEPLAY – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages.
 
NO REFUND – Jumped away awkwardly, held up for clear running approaching the 300m and was taken wider on the track. Laid in over the final stages.
 
VINAIGRETTE – Run about down the home straight when placed under pressure.
 
KING CONI – Slow to begin.
 
LONDON RULER – Jockey B. Richardson was charged under AR132(5) for her use of the whip, 17 times in totality, during the race. Jockey B. Richardson was suspended from riding for a period of 7 days from Midnight 19th March to Midnight 26th March 2022.
 
 
Race 2: SAVE THE DATE – 30TH APRIL 2022 – TREE OF KNOWLEDGE CUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1100 metres
 
D. Rewald was the rider of ALL SORTED and permitted to rider ½ kg overweight.
 
ANOTHER TOSSER – Travelled wide for much of the race, then laid in over the concluding stages.
 
PRIZED ARTIST – Began awkwardly shortly after the start for several strides.
 
REALLY REALLY GOOD – Overraced in the early stages.
 
COUNTRY ROADS – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 3: THANK YOU MAY DAY COMMITTEE CATERING CREW BM 50 HANDICAP 1100 metres
 
There was a delay to correct weight as jockey R. Faehr requested to see the photo finish print for third place prior to correct weight being given. After reviewing the print correct weight was given on the judge’s placings.
 
NIGHT IN PARADISE & WON CAPILANO were late scratchings with no riders available.
 
R. Faehr was the rider of SPALLINA.
 
JERRY ZANDA – Slow into stride. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
BLADE MAN – Galloped into restricted room approaching the 800m and became awkwardly placed onto heels and had to be eased momentarily.
 
GOLDSAY – Eased off heels near the 800m when a front runner became awkward onto heels.
 
 
Race 4: JIM ALLPASS & FAMILY OPEN HANDICAP 1200 metres
 
DEVINE RED was a late scratching at 3:20pm on veterinary advice. Deductions were announced with correct weight of 39 cents in the dollar value of the win bet and 24 cents in the dollar value of the place bet. All monies invested on DEVINE RED were refunded. Trainer P. O’Toole’s connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing again.

Race 5: NEXT BARCY RACES 16TH APRIL 2022 – EASTER SATURDAY BM 60 HANDICAP 1300 metres
 
FORGED IN STONE – Shifted out on jumping.
 
NO INUENDO – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
PAST TENSE – Slow to begin and slow into stride.
 
SURPRISE SELECTION and PAST TENSE bump nearing the 350m.
