Trainers Glenda Bell and Patrick O’Toole were reprimanded under the provisions of AR251 for being in possession of an instrument that could be used for administering a prohibited substance (sauce bottle).
 
 
Race 1: RODNEY'S STOCKCAMP SADDLERY BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1300 METRES)
 
GYPSY BIKER, raced wide throughout.
 
ICE ICE BABY, began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
 
JABALI GOLD, began awkwardly bounding in the air,
 
AURON, began awkwardly and hung out going around the first turn.
 
MURGANELLA, began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Held up for a short distance entering the home straight.
 
SHARPAY RULER, raced wide throughout.
 
HALLSIDE HOT STUFF, approaching the 200 metres shifted in to avoid the heels of another runner.
 
MORICONI, approaching the 900 metres over raced on the heels of AURON and had to be steadied.
 
SURPRISE SELECTION, entering the home straight shifted out abruptly and forced ICE ICE BABY wider on the track.
 
MISS MIRACULOUS, near the 200 metres shifted out sharply to avoid the heels of the tiring JABALI GOLD.
 
 
Race 2: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 Handicap (1100 METRES)
 
PORTABELLE, began awkwardly and raced wide for the majority. App. A Bakos pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 1 more than permitted. Jockey Bakos was issued with a reprimand.
 
PRIZED ARTIST, reared in the barriers prior to the start and was bumped by KARBORS approaching the 900 metres.
 
TYPHOON TALAYAH, checked out to avoid heels approaching the 700 metres.
 
AUVERGNE, bumped with INFORMER at the start.
 
INFORMER, bumped with AUVERGNE at the start and raced wide for the majority.
 
KARBORS, approaching the 900 metres shifted in for a stride and bumped PRIZED ARTIST.
 
 
Race 3: BARCALDINE CLEANING SERVICES QTIS Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)
 
KALMIA, bumped with REAL QUEEN at the start, rider lost their whip near the 200 metres.
 
DOUBLE OH SEVEN. laid in all the way down the home straight.
 
NOUVERRE FILLE, Apprentice Tyler Leslight pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 4 more than permitted. Jockey Leslight was fined the sum of $300.00.
 
REAL QUEEN, bumped with KALMIA at the start. Apprentice jockey Brooke Johnson was issued with a reprimand under the terms of AR210(1) for failing to weigh in when required to do so.
 
TAKING STEPS, shifted out abruptly at the start as a result was slow to begin and raced wide in the early stages. Trainer reported that TAKING STEPS coughed up blood on returning to the race day stalls. Trainer Bevan Johnson was advised he must produce a veterinary clearance for TAKING STEPS before it races again.
 
 
Race 4: JIM ALLPASS & FAMILY OPEN Handicap (1100 METRES)
 
REVENIRE, Fractious prior to the start.
 
MUSIC AWARD, approaching the 900 metres was forced to steady and shift inwards when tightened by SCHWEID AS. Approaching the finish line had to be steadied when tightened for room between SCHWEID AS and COZHECANCAN.
 
DONE IT AGAIN, approaching the 900 metres was tightened for room and forced onto the rail by MUSIC AWARD which was dictated to by SCWEID AS when it crossed.
 
SCHWEID AS, apprentice jockey Brooke Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR131(a) for careless riding when shifting in when not sufficiently clear of MUSIC AWARD, resulting in MUSIC AWARD being tightened for room, which in turn caused DONE IT AGAIN to be tightened for room. Apprentice Brooke Johnson license to ride was suspended for 8 days to commence midnight 25th March 2023 and finishes at midnight the 2nd of April 2023.
 
 
Race 5:  CAPRICORN PLUMBING & BUILDING SUPPLIES Class 6 Plate (1000 METRES)
 
KING CONI, slow to begin and approaching the 450 metres has checked outwards off the heels of
DESIGNED TO RUN.
 
NEW YORK WORLD, slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
 
SMOOTH MOVE, began awkwardly and raced three wide in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 450 metres appeared to clip heels and blunder dislodging apprentice jockey Sarah Robbins, Queensland Ambulance officers treated apprentice Robbins then transported to Barcaldine Hospital for further observation and treatment.
 
VON SAGA, Apprentice Tyler Leslight pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 2 more than permitted. Jockey Leslight was issued with a reprimand.
 
OUTREACH BELLE raced wide throughout.
 
TANGO TINO began awkwardly.
 
DESIGNED TO RUN, began awkwardly, jockey Emma Bell pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR211(1) for returning to scale in excess of half kilo overweight. Jockey Bell was fined the sum of $200.00.
