Cullen Race 1: WESTERN PRODUCE QTIS Maiden Plate 1000m The start of the event was delayed to remove a kangaroo on the track near the 700m. HYPE WIRE – Fractious prior to the start. Slow to begin. Lost touch with the field passing the 800m and played no further competitive part in the event. Trainer D. Dolgner was advised that the gelding would be barred from racing due to being uncompetitive. HYPE WIRE will be required to complete one satisfactory trial prior to racing again.KISS THE LASS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. RUNINSCARED – Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly as a result slow to begin. TAORMINA MATCH – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. VITAL VALENTIA – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stage. ANNIE’S TOP – Jumped inwards at the start as a result slow to begin. Shifted wider on the track entering the home straight. BUCKLEYS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Shifted wider on the track entering the home turn. Hung in from the 200m. VALIANT JOAN – Raced wide early. Race 2: WESTERN GAME BARCALDINE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1000m KINJINA – Impeded by REALLY REALLY GOOD upon jumping. LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide in the early stages. FLASH FIBIAN – Fractious prior to the start. VINAIGRETTE – Slow into stride. Hung in when placed under pressure from the 200m. WICKED CHANCE – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. REALLY REALLY GOOD – Fractious prior to the start. Jumped inwards at start bumping KINJINA. Shifted in passing the 300m to obtain clear racing room. TAMSIN – Began awkwardly as a result slow into stride. Lost touch with the field in the middle stages. ALGEROBA – Raced wide in the early stages. Race 3: BARCALDINE MEAT BARN Class B Handicap 1200m Following the running of Race 3 there was a delay in correct weight being called to allow for Jockey J. Babarvich to view the photo. Jockey J. Babarvich had no objections to the semaphored numbers and correct weight was subsequently called. ZOROSSA – Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. MR DEMOLITION – Began awkwardly as a result slow to begin.COUNTRY ROADS – Over raced in the early stages. Improved wider on the track from the 500m. LUNA GLIDE – Laid in when placed under pressure. ROSETTES – Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey T. Brummell upon returning to the scales advised that the mare hung in for the majority of the race. Connections of ROSETTES were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for hanging in. Race 4: PJ GARLAND & SONS BUILDERS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1300m AURON – Bumped by HEZAGEM upon jumping. HEZAGEM – Jumped outwards at the start bumping AURON. Jockey M. Schrapel was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. WIKI – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. CALIFORNIA ZIM ZIM – Raced wide in the early stages. LASCO – Jumped outwards at the start. Jockey A. Bakos was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted. TREBLA – Jumped outwards at the start. THERAPY – Steadied off heels when over racing passing the 800m. AUVERGNE – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stages. Race 5: MICHAEL HORMAN TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1300m THINK HIGH – Slow into stride. Hung out when placed under pressure from the 150m. HEROISM – Raced wide in the early stages. JERRY ZANDA – Slow into stride. Raced wide in the early stages. NO STRINGS – Was retired out of the event at the 150m. Jockey J. Babarovich reported that the gelding felt strange in its action and that it was making abnormal respiratory sounds and as a result he retired NO STRINGS out of the event. A subsequent post-race veterinarian examination revealed no apparent significant abnormalities. Trainer P. O’Toole was advised that NO STRINGS would require a veterinarian certificate prior to racing again. Race 6: BARCALDINE REGIONAL COUNCIL OPEN Handicap 1300m GRAND PALAZZO – Slow into stride. Jockey M. Gray was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. CAFFREY (IRE) – Jockey D. Graham was given permission to ride 0.5kg overweight as connections were not satisfied with the only available rider. Subsequently Jockey D. Graham was fined $200 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride for which she was overweight. MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide in the early stages. ENTERPRISE GRAND – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. GRAND DE LAGO – Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey N. Summers was fined $400 for her use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. REVENIRE – Slow into stride. HELMET HEAD – Raced wide throughout.
