POWER SISTER – Jumped awkwardly bumping ISHOTTHEDEPUTY. Approaching the 100m  shifted out abruptly making contact with LIEUTENANT. Jockey C Baylis (POWER SISTER) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident and was advised to take greater care when shifting ground under similar circumstances.

Race 3: WESTERN FREIGHT LINK OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres

Correct weight was delayed when the 2nd placegetter rider J Missen ( MR CRUISE) requested to review the patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against 1st placegetter HARALBEN (M McDonald). After viewing the available replays, jockey J Missen advised he did not wish to lodge a protest and stewards declared correct weight on the judges placings.

KING’S CONTRACT – Checked at the 800m. An inquiry was conducted and found that NEW YORK WORLD when ridden hard by T Brummel, whilst attempting to gain a position closer to the rails, laid in momentarily applying pressure to KOSOWSKI (M McDonald) as a result was taken slightly inwards crowding JETPACK (J Rudd) which in turn shifted in crowding and causing tightening to both KING’S CONTRACT (S McGovern) and CAFREY (R Faehr) which were checked as a consequence. After considering evidence from all riders involved, viewing the available replays and taking into account the own observations, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that any one rider was at fault for the interference and therefore no further action was warranted. In making this determination stewards noted that NEW YORK WORLD briefly and was immediately corrected by jockey T Brummel.
