QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BARCALDINE RACE CLUB SATURDAY 23th NOVEMBER 2024 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 OFFICIALS Stewards – S Coulthard (Chair), S Larkins GENERALThe following runner was scratched by order of stewards @ 10:52am due to no rider being available.R3 – READY TO GROOVE Race 1: DAVID MCKENZIE VET SERVICES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m JERLE – Jumped away awkwardly. TURNSTAR – Reared prior to jumping making contact with the barrier partition, as a result was slow to begin. Trainer B Newport was advised a warning would be placed on gelding’s barrier manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. TO THE WORLD – Slow to begin. CHIEF MONDO – Raced wide throughout. Race 2: UNION HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE 1200m HAMISO – Fractious prior to jumping, jumped away awkwardly causing rider to become momentarily unbalanced, shortly after the gelding proceeded to buck for a considerable distance and took no further competitive part in the race. Trainer R Little was advised the gelding was to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. FIRST SHOUT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the tie up stalls and again in the mounting yard and was cleared to start. Shortly after the start was inconvenienced and forced to shift wider to avoid bucking horse. Trainer, B Richardson was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race behavior. REGAL JUDGEMENT – Reared on jumping, as a result was slow to begin (5L). Trainer B Johnson was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being very slow to begin. HOT PEACH - Shortly after the start was inconvenienced and forced to shift wider to avoid bucking horse. TIGER BEANS - Shortly after the start was inconvenienced and forced to shift wider to avoid bucking horse. Raced wide throughout. Race 3:BARCALDINE VET SERVICES BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m PALAZZO SPIRIT – Inconvenienced on jumping when ASHIKO BAY shifted out. Apprentice jockey C Stuart reported he dropped his whip soon after jumping. DEN END – Raced wide throughout. DREYFUS – Jumped away awkwardly, as a result was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. When questioned, jockey J Rudd stated after an awkward start then forced to race wider from the 700m the gelding did not respond when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. VALIANT JOAN – Raced wide throughout. ASHIKO BAY – Shifted out on jumping momentarily inconveniencing PALAZZO SPIRIT. SHE'SGOTACCESS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Trainer, D Rewald was advised the mare must trial to satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer D Rewald advised he would consult with connections in regard to the racing future of the mare within his stable. Race 4: BARCALDINE REGIONAL COUNCIL OPEN PLATE 1200m HIDDEN EYES – Slow to begin. MUSIC AWARD – Raced wide throughout. OCEAN EMPEROR – Raced wide throughout. MAYA BAY – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5:THE FLYING VET DAVID MCKENZIE QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1300m DIVINE COURAGE – Slow to muster early speed. BADGE – Raced wide throughout. SO OUTRAGEOUS – Proceeded to shift out over the last 300m resulting in the rider having to stop and straighten her mount on multiple occasions. Trainer R Williams was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. THE LANDING – Raced wide throughout.
