SUPPLEMENTRY REPORT
ESK JOCKEY CLUB 6.7.13
Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons why Jockey I. Coombes rider of TIPSY TYCOON became dislodged at the Esk Jockey Club in race 1, the Class B 800m handicap on Saturday 6th July 2013. After taking evidence from both stewards and Jockey I. Coombes, it was established that approaching the 300m it appeared that Jockey Coombes had became unbalanced in the saddle and had difficulty controlling his mount has his saddle had started to slip. Then at a point near the 200m Jockey Coombes was dislodged from his mount on the near side. In the stewards findings there were no other factors apart from the saddle slipping which caused Jockey Coombes to be dislodged.
BUNDABERG RACE CLUB 13.7.13
As Apprentice Kate Witten was not riding at the meeting due to injury, rider replacements were made as per stewards summary.
Race 1: HAIFA CLASS B HANDICAP 1380m
1st – Get Back 2nd – Deadly Dennis 3rd – Wicked Fraar 4th – Remy Martini
Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of 4th place REMY MARTINI the opportunity to view the photo finish for 3rd place. As the photo finish equipment had not been in operation for the running of this race, connections made an objection against being placed 4th by the judge, in they believed that they had finished in 3rd place. After taking evidence from the official judge Mr R Prowd and connections of REMY MARTINI and after viewing the stewards patrol films, stewards could not be satisfied that an alteration to the placings could be justified, therefore stewards acting under AR.156.(1) declared correct weight on the judges placings.
REMY MARTINI (B. Derbyshire) raced wide for the majority of the event.
