RACE 4: MORGANS PLATE 1380m
Kuramos Raced wide throughout. Stewards questioned J Hodge regarding his decision not to ease to a position closer to the rail at the 900m mark. J Hodge reported that his instructions were not to cover up Kuramos as it had resented kickback in previous starts and felt it would be best suited racing to the outside of heels.
Lucky Ticket Stewards questioned K Gates as to why Lucky Ticket shifted away from the rail approaching the 500m mark and allowed another runner to improve to her inside. K Gates stated that the inside was quite heavy and as Lucky Ticket was only travelling fairly she elected to ease away from the rail and look for firmer going.
