Race 1: GREG WHALLEY DENTAL H’CAP – 850M
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey M Haley and W Melvin trainer of the 2nd placed horse NEED FINANCE and H English rider of FIRST BID the 1st placed horse to view the photo finish image for 1st placing. After a short delay the Judges original placings were confirmed and correct weight given.
 
FIRST BID - Jockey H English was fined $300 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
NEED FINANCE - Stewards permitted Jockey M Haley to ride the horse .5kg overweight. Jockey M Haley was subsequently fined $100 under AR 120 (b), in assessing penalty stewards took into account jockey M Haley’s recent good record. Jockey M Haley was also fined $200 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
BULLION BELLE – Bumped by another on jumping, App Doyle stated his mount got back in the field and resented the kick back
 
CHRISSY’S SPIRIT – Jumped away awkwardly making contact with another runner
 
BLOOMERANG – Raced wide without cover throughout
 
MISTA BOSS – Raced wide throughout
 
 
 
Race 2: THE WAVES SPORTS CLUB H’CAP– 1090M
 
DIAORAS - Stewards permitted Jockey M Haley to ride the horse 1kg overweight. Jockey M Haley was subsequently fined $100 under AR 120 (b).
 
MASTER DENRHO – Raced with without cover throughout
 
EMPEROR MAZIMILIAN – Was slow into stride and raced wide throughout
 
CANID – Jumped away slowly and raced wide throughout
 
MAGIC STREET – Jumped away slowly and raced wide majority of the race
 
MINTO’S LASS – Trainer D Gardiner advised stewards on completion of the race the mare bled in both nostrils. Mr Gardiner was advised that the mare must gallop 1000m after 3 month bar from racing to the satisfaction of the stewards.
 
Race 3: CHARLTONS LAWYERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1212M

OLE SNIP – Jumped away awkwardly. When approaching the 950m Jockey J Hoopert advised stewards that the gelding resented the kick back resulting in his mount shifting out abruptly across the heels of DUAN DUNROAMIN. The gelding raced ungenerously from that point on and was uncompetitive for the remainder of the race. Stewards advised trainer V Heading that the gelding would need to pass an official trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again.

AL BRIEF’S – Blundered badly on jumping. Jockey H Phillips was fined $300 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
MISTA BUSY – Jumped awkwardly, raced wide throughout
 
Race 5: MURCHIE CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK  55 H’CAP– 1380M
 
 MANDOLIN MANNI – Raced greenly in the early to middle stages of the event
 
TIVERTON - When approaching the 1200m mark was restrained and lost ground when racing in restricted room. Raced wide throughout

Race 6:SPORTSMAN’S LUNCHEON CLASS B H’CAP– 1600M
 
The start of the race was delayed when BOHEMIAN TIGER became fractious in the barriers, the gelding was removed from the barriers and underwent a veterinary inspection and was passed fit the race.
 
SWIPPA DA MOUSE – Blundered slightly after the start and was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Jockey K Gates was fined $100 under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
POLY OREOS – Jumped away slowly, raced wide throughout.
