SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

9 March 2021 Sunshine Coast Turf Club.
Stewards concluded an inquiry into ATTOMIC MISSILE falling near the 850m in Race 4 Benchmark 60 Handicap 1030m at Gympie Race Club on Saturday 22 August 2020.  Evidence was taken from Jockey R Faehr(LIL RUBY ROSE) H Phillips(TURBO TEDDY) P Hamblin(BEL SELEVA) and K Gates (ATTOMIC MISSILE). After considering all the evidence tendered from all riders and viewing the available video footage. Jockey P Hamblin was found guilty of a charge under AR131(a) in that he engaged in careless riding when he allowed his mount to shift in at a point near the 850m in an attempt to secure a position closer to the fence. In doing so shifted in when insufficiently clear of ATTOMIC MISSILE resulting in BEL SELEVA crossing the established racing line of ATTOMIC MISSILE, resulting in that runner striking the heels of BEL SELEVA, blundering and dislodging it's rider K Gates.

When assessing penalty Stewards considered Jockey P Hamblin’s record with regard to careless riding, his degree of carelessness, the severity of the interference sustained to ATTOMIC MISSILE, which fell and dislodged its rider.

Jockey P Hamblin had his licence to ride in races suspended for 1 month commencing midnight 18 March 2021 and expiring midnight 18 April 2021. Jockey P Hamblin was advised of his rights to an Internal Review.
