QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BUNDABERG RACE CLUBSATURDAY 12th MARCH 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Sand RAIL – True OFFICIALS Stewards: K Daly (Chairman), C FedrickClub Steward: P HoneywillClerk of Scales – C MyersJudge – K PimmVeterinarian – Dr A EvansStarter – B Steindl GeneralStewards permitted the following weight variations: Race 1: G Steele – FRISCO’S IMAGE – 56.5kgs (+1kg)Race 2: G Steele – FINEST ACT – 56.5kgs (+1.5kg)Race 3: G Steele – TRUE TALLY – 56.5kgs (+0.5kg)Race 6: G Steele – WALSAHIE – 56.5kgs (+1.5kg) Race 1 – Benchmark 65 Hdcp 850 METRES DONE IT AGAIN – Bumped at the start. Raced four wide without cover throughout. HARD ENOUGH – Raced three wide without cover throughout. FRISCO’S IMAGE – Slow to begin. LIEUTENANT – Jumped out at the start and bumped DONE IT AGAIN Race 2 – Class B Hdcp 850 METRES I AM FEARLESS – Inclined to lay out approaching and rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hind leg. AVISION – Very slow to begin. Trainer C Rogers was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners. QUARTER PAST After becoming fractious in the saddling enclosure reared over backwards striking its head with the horse subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:20pm. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on QUARTER PAST refunded in full and deductions of 21c win and 17c place to apply on face value of all winning bets prior to 1:20pm. SP’s are not subject to deductions. Trainer Mr K Sempf was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s pre-race manners. Mr Sempf advised Stewards it would now be his intention to remove the cross over noseband from QUARTER PAST. SHOOTFORTHESTAR – Jumped out at the start and bumped heavily with FINEST ACT. Rider K Gates reported the horse did not appreciate the heavy sand conditions on the inside section of the track. TIMELY REWARD – Taken wider on the track approaching and rounding the home turn when I AM FEARLESS was inclined to lay out. FINEST ACT – Bumped heavily at the start. Race 3 – BENCHMARK 55 Hdcp 1090 METRES AUVERGNE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. THE SILVER LADY – After being fractious leaving the saddling enclosure, Stewards permitted the cross over noseband to be removed from the horse. A public address was made to this effect. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider A Spinks reported THE SILVER LADY failed to handle the sand track conditions. TRUE TALLY – Bumped on jumping away. FUDGINIT – Jumped out at the start and bumped TRUE TALLY. App R Wilson was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Race 4 – Maiden Plate 1212 METRES BELTANA – Made the home turn very wide on the track. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider A Spinks reported BELTANA failed to handle the sand track conditions. Trainer J Morrow advised Stewards BELTANA would now be retired however he was advised the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to racing again if these circumstances were to change. After being unable to be loaded into the barriers UPMAN was declared a late scratching at 2:53pm. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on UPMAN refunded in full and deductions of 10c win and 8c place to apply on face value of all winning bets prior to 2:53pm. SP’s are subject to deductions. Trainer T Hong was advised UPMAN would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. ZAYDE – Raced wide throughout. CRAIGLEA BANDIT – Raced wide throughout. Race 5 – Benchmark 45 Hdcp 1212 METRES ALL JEED UP – Rider G Steele reported the horse, in her opinion, did not handle the sand track conditions. GLAM ROCK – Apprentice S Stephan reported the saddle on the horse shifted to the nearside passing the 600m placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. FOX ON THE ROCKS – A Spinks, rider of FOX ON THE ROCKS, was suspended from riding in races under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for a period of 15 days to commence midnight 17th March up to and including midnight 1st April 2022 for use of the whip 10 times prior to the 100m, five more than permitted. Race 6 – OPEN Hdcp 1212 METRES DOLCI – Apprentice R Wilson, rider of DOLCI, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip six times prior to the 100m, one more permitted. WALSHIE – Raced wide throughout the event. Race 7 – Class B Hdcp 850 METRES KILKENNY DAZZLER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. YES NO MAYBE SO – Apprentice S Stephan, rider of YES NO MAYBE SO, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip six times prior to the 100m, one more permitted.
