Trainer G Clem advised that the gelding would now be going for a spell. DAUNTING PRINCESS – Jockey A Spinks was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. Race 2: DENTAL EXCELLENCE BUNDABERG QTIS Class 3 Plate 1090 METRESETHELDA – Raced wide throughout.ALLOCATE – Began awkwardly. CHILLI PALMER – Raced wide throughout.YES NO MAYBE SO – Raced wide throughout. Jockey D Boutet advised that the gelding did not handle the soft track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 3: BOB GALLAGHER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1090 METRESStewards inquired into the circumstances where jockey G Steele failed to weigh in following the running of the race after ridding AWESOME SPIRIT which placed fifth. Jockey G Steele pleaded guilty to a charge under AR210(1) for failing to weigh in when required to do so. Ms Steele was fined $200. In assessing penalty stewards considered her guilty plea, good record of more than 10 years and the relative finishing position of her mount. When considering whether AWESOME SPIRIT should maintain its position in the field under AR210(2) stewards were mindful that under the circumstances there was no impact to betting or prize money and therefore, allowed AWESOME SPIRIT to maintain its finishing position. CALICO COUNTY – Very slow to begin.MEDIA HYPE – Raced wide throughout. Hung in over the concluding stages. Race 4: CHARLTONS LAWYERS Maiden Plate 1212 METRESREADY TO THUNDER – Impeded soon after the start. WAN D’AMOUR – Raced ungenerously for a few strides soon after the start and impeded READY TO THUNDER. Race 5: THE WAVES SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1380 METRESDOUBLE BARRELL – Slow into stride and trailed the field in the early and middle stages. Rider D Boutet reported that the gelding failed to handle the conditions. MASTER DRUMMER – Raced wide throughout.WAR TOO ALL – Raced wide throughout.
