QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BUNDABERG RACE CLUB BUNDABERG - SATURDAY – 31ST AUGUST 2024 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Sand - RAIL – TruePENETROMETER – N/A OFFICIALS Chair of Stewards – S LarkinsStewards – J Randall GENERAL Trainer Gary Clem was questioned in relation to the nomination and subsequent scratching of ALLOCATE from race 5 where he had two other runners competing. Mr Clem advised that after galloping on Wednesday leading into today’s event, ALLOCATE had not recovered well and continued to leave feed in the following days. Mr Clem further advised that he was mindful of the gelding having not raced for nearly 5 months and therefore elected to scratch the horse. Race 1: ULTON WEALTH MANAGEMENT RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap (850 METRES) DON’T CHA WISH – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. When queried in relation to the performance, jockey D Smith advised that after being slow to begin his mount was able to tack on to the field however failed to finish the race off when asked for an effort. The rider further added that, racing first up for 4 months with 61kg may have also had a bearing on the performance. KUZCO LAD – Jockey M Butler pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) for applying the whip to his mount on 20 occasions in total. The license to ride in races of Mr Butler was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight tonight and conclude midnight 7 September 2024. THE STORM – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Race 2: FURLONG FINANCIAL GROUP Class B Handicap (1090 METRES) COTTO – Bumped at the start by REVITUP CHARLIE. I’M FAMOUS – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. REVITUP CHARLIE – Began awkwardly and bumped with COTTO. LIPSTICK LIES – Began awkwardly. Race 3: PSC INSURANCE BROKERS OPEN Plate (1090 METRES) JAMESATELLI – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. KING KLAUS – Inclined to hang in under pressure in the run to the finish. Race 4: THE ULTON CUP Maiden Plate (1212 METRES) FLAWLESS AMBITION – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. FREE CHOICE – Gave ground over the final 300. JUST BINGO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers after kicking the mounting yard fence and was cleared to start. MEDIA GEM – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide early. PLUS SIXTY ONE – Raced wide for the majority. BLESSED DAY – Blundered at the start. VADAMOON (NZ) – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout before giving ground over the final 300m. WE GIRLS – Inclined to hang in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: MORGANS QTIS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1380 METRES) BLONDE’S DAY OUT – Slow to begin. NATIVE BEAUTY – Slow to begin. MASTER DRUMMER – Raced wide early. Jockey A Spinks pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying his whip to his mount on 10 occasions prior to the 100m and 14 times in total. The license to ride in races of Mr Spinks was suspended for 8 days to commence midnight tonight and conclude midnight 8 September 2024,. CANNY BOY – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
