Race 1 Maiden Handicap - 1000 Metres – 6 Starters
Jockey J. Cerchi was allowed to ride VAIN ANNIE 2.5 kg above the allotted weight when no other rider was available. J. Cerchi stated he did not accepted the ride but was willing to ride the horse overweight.

Race 2 Open Handicap - 1000 Metres - 6 Starters
Jockey J. Cerchi was allowed to ride NUAL 2.0 kg above the allotted weight when no other rider was available.
At the 800 metre mark OUR CELESTIAL STAR (L. Critoph) and ALOOF STAR (D. Rewald) were required to be eased and lost ground. At a subsequent enquiry it was established that as the field joined the course proper from the 1000 metre shute, racing room became restricted when IRISH DECREE (D. Monaghan) and VIVID ILLUSION (T. Austin) had attempted to take up a forward position. As a result of IRISH DECREE (D. Monaghan) and VIVID ILLUSION (T. Austin) crossing from the outside OUR CELESTIAL STAR (L. Critoph) was inconvenienced and ALOOF STAR (D. Rewald) had to be eased and lost ground. Rider D. Monaghan was issued with a reprimand and instructed to allow sufficient racing room for horses to his inside when racing in similar circumstances in the future.
After passing the winning post VIVID ILLUSION (T. Austin) ducked out abruptly and dislodged rider T. Austin. Jockey T. Austin was examined by the attending nurse on course and passed to ride in the next race subject to a further examination after race 3.
A swab sample was taken from the winner CASTLE DEEN.
Race 3 Class 3 Handicap - 1300 Metres- 5 Starters
The start of race 3 was delayed to allow for a medical examination of jockey T. Austin.
Trainer Mr. N Peoples was issued with a reprimand for presenting ROYAL BARON in the parading area without blinkers.
FREE HAND (D. Rewald) was slow to gather speed after jumping on terms with the remainder of the field.
There were no additional racing incidents to report.

Race 4 Open Handicap - 1600 Metres- 6 Starters
Rider T. Austin was re-examined by the attending nurse and allowed to fulfill the remainder of his engagements.
The start of race 4 was rescheduled to start at 3.45pm to allow the running of a calcutta on the race.
KIM ISLAND (D. Rewald) was slow to begin.
On returning to the enclosure jockey T. Austin the rider of CERTAIN EIRE and trainer Mr. N. Peoples disputed the judges decision claiming that CERTAIN EIRE should have been placed second and not third. After consulting with the judges and taking statements from the trainer and jockey, the claim by T. Austin and Mr. N. Peoples was rejected and correct weight was declared on the judges placings 4, 1, 5,& 3.

Race 5 Class 1 Handicap - 1200 Metres 4 Starters

A swab sample was taken from the winner DIMURTA.
Race 6 Class 5 Handicap - 1400 Metres 4 Starters
KING’S BID (J. Cerchi) hung in for the entire race.
A swab sample was taken from the winner TANK TOP.

Rider T. Austin was instructed to surrender his skull cap to the Stipendiary Steward at the Betoota races.
The skull cap is to be tested after receiving an impact as a result of the fall from VIVID ILLUSION.
Club officials provided enthusiastic support during the meeting.
Jockey J. Cerchi was issued with a reprimand in relation to his failure to ride at, or close to, the allotted weight of his mounts during the meeting.
