GENERAL
Due to circumstances a number of late rider declarations were unavoidable and have been amended as per steward’s summary sheet.
Race 1: G.W MURPHY BUILDER/G & J LEWINGTON MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
1st – TOP BUTTON 2nd – SIR FEDERICKO 3rd – KUDA ROCK 4th – LITTLE MISS DRAGON
AUSIE STEAL (M. Crawford) raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.
Race 2: KAMARAN DOWNS & BLACK TRUCK SALES OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
1st – PRINCE LEO 2nd – GESINK 3rd – MASTER DANNY 4th – SHOREPHIL
PALOLO DEEP was declared a late scratching at 12.00pm due to no rider being available.
Due to no other rider being available stewards permitted C. Dixon to ride SHOREPHIL 3kg over its allotted weight. This was advised via track broadcast.
M. O’Brien, who was only able to take advantage of ½ kg of her 1.5kg claim was permitted to fulfil her engagement as the rider of MASTER DANNY when other rider was available.
AUSSIE ROCK (T. Brummell) threw it head up in the air as the start was effected and lost considerable ground.
CRAIGLEA TUNES (S. Galvin), PERIANDER (M. Crawford) and MANNERS PLEASE (C. Kearney) all raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: TOBY & GEM HARRIS/BALDWIN FILTERS/ROAD TRAINS OF AUST CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M
1st – BANKER’S TRUST 2nd – KASHINITE 3rd – DESERT LAIR 4th – MANEROO CRUISE
REMEDIA and RASCAL’S PRAYER were declared late scratchings at 12.40pm due to no riders being available.
As no other rider was available stewards permitted C. Dixon to ride KASHINITE 3 kg over its declared weight. This was advised via track broadcast.
CAPITOL HILL (M. O’Brien) became fractious in the barriers causing DESERT LAIR (T. Brummell) which was in an adjoining barrier to lunge forward and break through the front of the barriers dislodging its rider who was able to restrain DESERT LAIR without further incident. DESERT LAIR was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
T. Brummell was unharmed and cleared to fulfil his engagement.
MANEROO CRUISE (M. Crawford) was slow to begin.
DESERT LAIR began awkwardly.
IMA GENERAL (S. Galvin) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 4: GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOC & CLUNY STATION BEDOURIE CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1600M
1st – KALMAN 2nd – LOTTO BLUES 3rd – EIGHT RED 4th – ASTRO GAINS
SIR JAMES and ROCKY COBRA were declared late scratchings at 1.45pm due to no riders being available.
GUDUNOV (S. Galvin) stood flat as the start was effected and lost considerable ground resulting in the gelding taking no competitive part in the race. Trainer H. Forster was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate prior GUDUNOV being permitted to race again.
JUST A TOUCH (M. O’Brien) became unbalanced leaving the 900m and shifted in making heavy contact with the raining rail and lost ground.
ASTRO GAINS (C. Dixon) raced wide for the majority of the race.
W. Doyle, the rider of KALMAN was fined the sum of $200 under AR137(c) in that he made a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
Race 5: THE OUTBACK LOOP/IOR ENERGY CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
1st – EMBELLISHING 2nd – COPPER PIN 3rd – ONLY LOOKING 4th – REMEDIA
TYCOON IS IN was declared late scratching at 1.45pm due to no rider being available.
As no other rider was available stewards permitted C. Dixon to ride ONLY LOOKING 1kg over its handicapped weight. This was advised via track broadcast.
COPPER PIN (W. Doyle) began awkwardly and raced wide in the early stages of the race.
REMEDIA (C. Kearney) after being slow to begin raced wide for majority of the race.
Race 6: CAVA HYDRAULICS & BEDOURIE HOTEL CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1300M
1st – PREMIXA 2nd – AIR BUS 3rd – GREY DRAGON 4th – LOUGHRAN LAD
M. O’Brien, who was only able to take advantage of ½ kg of her 1.5kg claim was permitted to fulfil her engagement as the rider of PREMIXA when other rider was available. At a subsequent inquiry M. O’Brien was fined the sum of $200 under AR 92(12).
AIR BUS (C. Dixon) was tightened for room shortly after the start when racing between PREMIXA (M. O’Brien) which shifted out and WINGER IN (W. Doyle) which shifted in.
AIR BUS raced wide for the majority of the race.
