WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - FAST
RACE 1: THE RAILWAY HOTEL H'CAP - 950M.
Due to the late arrival of the ambulance on course, race 1 was rescheduled to 1.10 p.m. and race 2 to 1.30 p.m..
ZUKA was slow to begin.
NOBLE MOTEL was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
RACE 2: THE BEAUDESERT HOTEL H'CAP - 1650M.
FIORENILLI was slow to begin.
Over the concluding stages, SIR SHANNON shifted in and made contact with MCCARTY'S GIRL.
RACE 3: THE BEAUDESERT LEAGUES CLUB AND BEAUDESERT GOLD CLUB H'CAP -
MARLERA reared on jumping away, losing considerable ground.
POINTILLISM made the crossing awkwardly at the 1400m..
ROSITANO was tightened for room over the concluding stages between CHEVALIER and POINTILLISM, both of which shifted ground under pressure.
CLASSIC VENTURE shifted in of its own accord at the 1000m. and made contact with POINTILLISM and as a result shifted back out, brushing the hind quarters of NO DESPAIR. In this incident, CLASSIC VENTURE became unbalanced and lost ground.
G. Baker reported that ROSITANO hung out throughout the event.
A veterinary examination of PRINCE OF PARIS, which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 4: THE RATHDOWNEY HOTEL H'CAP - 950M.
CRYSTELLA was a late scratching at 2.31 p.m. after dislodging rider M. Lister in the preliminary and galloping for some distance. Subsequent to the event, stewards ordered all monies invested on CRYSTELLA be refunded, with deductions of 15 cents in the dollar on the face value on win bets, 13 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets, applicable to successful wagers placed prior to the withdrawal time.
MOOLERNA and ZORF were slow to begin.
Making the home turn, after being steadied off the heels of OZZEL, which shifted in momentarily, SOUTHERN JOY then overreacted and shifted in abruptly across the heels of FORBSIE, losing ground.
RACE 5: THE CANUNGRA HOTEL H'CAP - 950M.
PENITENT ZOFFANY jumped outwards at the start, making contact with GAY REALITY.
A. Merritt, rider of SEND A DIVA, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in shortly after the start when not clear of both MINORI EXPRESS and CARTOON, both of which had to be steadied as a consequence.
Approaching the 700m., FRIENDLY PURSUIT shifted out momentarily. BELLE EYES, which was following, had to be steadied in consequence.
Nearing the home turn, BELLE EYES was momentarily tightened for room between RESOLUTE LASS and FRIENDLY PURSUIT, which shifted in slightly.
RACE 6: THE JIMBOOMBA HOTEL H'CAP - 1100M.
IVORY ROAD was slow to begin.
Approaching the 900m., NOBLE JEWELS had to be steadied when crowded for room by GAME KING, which was taken in by SCOTTSDALE. P. Wolfgram rider of SCOTTSDALE, was advised to be 2 lengths clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
SCOTTSDALE shifted its near hind plate in running.
RACE 7: THE BEAUDESERT RSL CLU B H'CAP - 1100M.
GOLDEN TRAIL and MISS SHARNEE were slow to begin.
Approaching the 800m., GOLDEN TRAIL commenced to race fiercely and had to be steadied off the heels of ANOTHER GENERAL. MISS SHARNEE, which was following, was obliged to shift out abruptly to avoid the heels of GOLDEN TRAIL, and in doing so took CAROUSELS out on to the hind quarters of ERNEST HOPE.
Making the home turn, MISS SHARNEE was again momentarily tightened for room between GOLDEN TRAIL and CAROUSELS, which was taken in marginally by ERNEST HOPE.
RACE 8: DES CRABBE OF THE BEAUDESERT HOTEL H'CAP - 1400M.
As M. Lister became indisposed after riding in race 5, G. Baker was substituted as the rider of FRISKY WHISKEY.
DE KWILA was slow to begin.
DE KWILA, which bled during the event, will be barred from racing for 3 months.
ALL WINNERS AND DE KWILA WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
