GENERAL

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer B. Andrew for the late declaration of H. English as rider of FASSLER (Race 5) and DRESS SENSE (Race 7).

Race 1: CLEAR SUMMER LODGE F&M MAIDEN H'CAP 1300M

GOLDEN RAINBOWS Overraced for a short distance in the early stages. Shifted in and made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced near the 400m when racing in restricted room to the inside of TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP. Shifted out abruptly when racing greenly approaching the 100m, resulting in the rider having to stop riding and straighten. Bumped approaching the winning post.

KISS ME GOODNIGHT Raced three wide without cover throughout.

SLEEPING SATELLITE Raced wide from the 600m.

SMOOTH VELVET Apprentice B. Ainsworth informed stewards that she was advised by the connections to not use the whip on the mare. Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Had to be eased when tightened for room between runners near the 400m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and approaching the winning post shifted in and bumped GOLDEN RAINBOWS.

TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP V. Venkaya reported at scale that he dropped his whip near the 100m.

Race 2: BEAUDESERT SOFT DRINKS C,G&E CLASS 1 H'CAP 1200M

ZOUTANO A. Allen reported at scale that his mount was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

DASH THING As apprentice J. Hodge was unable to arrive on course in time to fulfil his engagement due to transport difficulties, apprentice C. Bayliss was substituted as rider. Slow into stride.

Race 3: TRACKSIDE PHOTOGRAPHY F&M CLASS 1 H'CAP 1200M

MSHINDI Raced wide for the majority of the event.

PRINCESS SNOWY Became fractious in its barrier, removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Had to be restrained after passing the 800m when overracing. Held up rounding the home turn and until a point near the 200m. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

BOWIES BAYCONI Slow to begin.

CURRENT FIGURES Had to be steadied near the 900m to avoid the heels of SPARKLING GIFT, which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Ms H. English, the rider of SPARKLING GIFT, was issued with a reprimand. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.

Race 4: HAACK LOGISTICS GROUP C,G&E MAIDEN H'CAP 1300M

HIDDEN ACTION Slow to begin and then failed to muster any early speed despite the efforts of its rider.

HOT MILO Stewards accepted trainer M. Palmerrs explanation for K. Yoshida initially being declared as rider and subsequently being replaced by R. Ride. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which finished last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

ROCKY HALO Fractious in the barriers. Shifted in under pressure over the final 100m.

THATTS LOVELY Held up from the 300m until leaving the 200m.

HARD EVIDENCE Had to be steadied from the heels of SACRED WATER near the 900m when that runner shifted in and away from HOLLS SPRINGSTEEN, which shifted in.

MATCH DAY Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

HOLLS SPRINGSTEEN Bumped near the 300m and shortly after put in an awkward stride.

WICKED WIKI Rider B. Derbyshire reported to stewards that it was not her intentions to lead, however from the wide barrier and after beginning on terms with the field, was of the view that she was going to be caught racing wide and therefore she elected to improve forward and assume a position in the lead.

SACRED WATER Inconvenienced behind the weakening HOT MILO near the 300m and then shifted out, bumping HOLLS SPRINGSTEEN.

Race 5: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 3 PLATE 1650M

FASSLER Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer B. Andrew was advised that a warning would be placed against the horsees barrier manners.

BARBERANCE Obliged to alter course over the concluding stages.

LUCKY THREE SEVENS Commenced to overrace leaving the 1000m and then near the 900m had to be steadied from the heels of BARBERANCE.

SUPPLEMENTS Caught wide in the early stages and was allowed to improve forward to a position outside the leaders, three wide without cover near the 800m.

Race 6: LOGAN AND ALBERT HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP 1050M

OMISSION Bumped and hampered at the start. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the early and middle stages, apprentice J. Hodge explained that although he was beginning from a wide barrier, he had been instructed to remain wide rather than restrain with the heavy weight. He added that he had considered restraining in an attempt to obtain cover, however when the gelding commenced to race keenly he therefore resisted restraining his mount and continued to race in a wide position throughout. Apprentice Hodge agreed with stewards that notwithstanding the instructions issued by the trainer, it would have been more advantageous to obtain cover behind DRUM MASTER passing the 1000m to give his mount the best opportunity to finish the race off to the best of its ability.

SI SI SEQUALO Held up slightly rounding the home turn.

DRUM MASTER Raced wide throughout.

CLARADINI Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.

DR DEEJAY Made the turn near the 700m awkwardly and had to be steadied from heels.

OVERGROWN Trainer F. Hall was reprimanded for failing to produce the horsees Thoroughbred Identification Card.

MAN OF LAW Slow to begin.

Race 7: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP 1400M

DRESS SENSE Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start. Raced three wide without cover. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice H. English stated that despite having a wide run throughout, the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate and a slow post-race recovery.

STORMY DESTINY Had to be steadied approaching the 1000m when tightened for room between runners and lost ground.

TRUE STEPPER Had to be steadied approaching the 600m when placed in restricted room to the inside of QUATTRO FANTASTICO.

SALT FLAT Began awkwardly.

ALFIE JUNIOR Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.

EFFECTIVE ASSASSIN Began awkwardly and then shortly after shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of DRESS SENSE.
