COUNTRY LUCK Began awkwardly and lost ground. MISHANI ALLURE Connections indicated that it would be the intention for the horse to take up a more forward position in running. The horse was ridden accordingly. Made contact with the running rail approaching the home turn, shifted out marginally, making contact with the hind quarters of BRAINS, which was improving to the outside. Race 2: PSP VIDEO F&M MAIDEN PLATE 1200M CLICK NN COLLECT Shifted out abruptly approaching the 1000m when leading, making heavy contact with another runner. A warning was placed on the horsees racing manners. CORAL SEAS Severely hampered approaching the 1000m when tightened for room between runners. ROYAL ROUTINE Raced wide in the early stages. CASSINI COMET Raced wide in the early and middle stages. HUGS NN KISSES Slow to begin. PROPOSED Slow to begin. Race 3: XXXX C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE 1200M BOUND TO ME Overraced in the middle stages. HIDDEN ACTION Slow to begin. W. DDAvila reported that his mount felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. KING OF MONACO Slow to begin. SUMMERHILL Had to steady off heels near the 700m and appeared to jump a shadow and was eased wider on the track. Bled from both nostrils during the event. Ineligible to race for 3 months, and prior to resuming racing must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward. LILBOURNE Hampered shortly after the start. DRAGONS ESPRIT Began awkwardly. Hampered shortly after the start. Race 4: PETEES PARTY PLACE BEAUDESERT CLASS 2 H'CAP 1650M ENDLESS DON Caught wide in the early stages. STELLAR JEWELL Overraced and steadied off heels approaching the 1500m. CAPE DENISON Slow to begin. Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount overraced in the early stages and made the crossing awkwardly. DASH THING Caught wide in the early stages. JERROCITY Reared as the gates opened, losing ground. RED RAGGA Caught wide in the early stages. Race 5: TRUCK AND EARTH BEAUDESERT BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP 1100M FLYING CHARGER Bounded on jumping. Apprentice H. English reported that in her opinion her mount would be better suited in races over longer distance than that of todayys event. ITTS VEGAS BABY Forced wider by another runner approaching the 700m. GO GET SUM As T. Banks was indisposed due to illness, N. Tomizawa was substituted as rider. Raced wide throughout. OMISSION As J. Hodge failed to arrive on course to fulfil his engagement, N. Keal was substituted as rider at 3:35 pm. Apprentice Hodge was fined $100 for failing to fulfil his engagement. Began awkwardly. ARGYLL BAY Made the turn approaching the 700m awkwardly, ran wider on the track and inconvenienced other runners. CORDER Forced wider by another runner approaching the 700m. Race 6: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 1 H'CAP 1300M WENSLEY ROAD, which bucked and dislodged B. Derbyshire in its preliminary, was declared a late scratching at 4:30 pm when jockey Derbyshire was unable to fulfil her engagement due to sustaining an injury to her left leg. On the announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered that all monies invested on WENSLEY ROAD be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers: 0 cents in the dollar for the win #22 cents in the dollar for place of winner #22 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #12 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3 As the horse has previously offended, trainer R. Drysdale was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next start. OUR ROCKY Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Raced three wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the run to the finish. TRUE STEPPER Had to steady from the heels of another runner approaching the 1000m and again near the 700m. CURRENT FIGURES Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount began awkwardly. Race 7: LOGAN AND ALBERT HOTEL CLASS 4 H'CAP 1400M MISHANI PHOENIX Hung in in the run to the finish. LIKE A RULER Forced wider by another runner near the 300m. ROCKY NUGGET Raced three wide throughout. RED HOT SECRET Dipped after accidentally clipping the heels of LIKE A RULER near the 300m. TURKANA Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted ground. ALFIE JUNIOR Reared as the start was effected, losing ground. RED BOHEMIA As B. Derbyshire had been injured prior to the start of Race 6, B. Ainsworth was substituted as rider. Slow to begin.
